Announcement   a Fairy Poem

If you should catch a Fairy
And place it in a jar,
Be sure to treat it kindly,
And do not take it far -
This Fairy is not for keeping
It has a home you see,
The forest is a wonderful place
And fairies must live free.

About

How this Fairy Garden loving, Mother-Daughter Duo got started!

My Fairy Garden Whimsy started with Brandi, the daughter of the duo, making Fairy Gardens to escape a long Alberta winter. After visiting a local garden centre, she was inspired to create her own Fairy Garden, using leftover odds and ends she had from other crafty endeavours. Very soon after, she began teaching classes on how to make Fairy Houses with newspaper, tin foil and polymer clay. Both Brandi and her students finished the gardens with her handmade wire decorations, wooden signs, colourful rocks and glass gazing balls.

Fast forward two years, and momma bear Bev, officially joined the team. Her employer decided to shut down their business, and Bev found herself unemployed with her 60th Birthday around the corner. Not wanting to start over at entry level positions at this stage in her life, Bev decided to embrace the new creative life! Leaving her Accounting career behind her, she's putting her mad painting skills to good use! With her eye for detail, Bev is responsible for bringing all of the Fairy Decorations and Kits together. She coordinates the colours, styles, and brings the sparkle to these magical creations.

The Mother-Daughter Duo started under Brandi’s CuteCraftyGirl brand, but decided to open a brand new shop, and go All-In! My Fairy Garden Whimsy was officially born in March, 2018, and the budding business is growing fast! “Fairy Headquarters” has evolved from Bev’s dining room table, to a 300 sqft dedicated studio in the lower level of the house.

Brandi oversees the initial product creation. She takes the raw materials, and forms all of the fairy doors, decorations, and house components. She constantly searches for new materials to use, and loves the trial and error process of creating new products. She also coordinates all of the events, and the tech-side of the business.

Bev is in charge of all painting, assembly and finishing of all the Shop’s products. She thoroughly enjoys the fine detail work, and putting the love and care into each of the Fairy Doors, Fairy Houses and decorations. She's also the office manager, and of course, in charge of Accounting.

Both ladies are located in Airdrie, Alberta.
