MyFairyPoems

This is my third Etsy shop. I wanted to dedicate a special place to my fairy poems because they have a special place in my heart.

I rarely just sit down to write a poem. An inspiration suddenly sparks my mind while I'm doing something else. It may be a phrase or a line. I grab the nearest pencil and paper, or my iPad, and write that down, then see what appears next. If I hear a line and question it, a little voice in my head tells me to just write it down. Then the magic happens! Once I write that down, other thoughts start popping up, one at a time, and the story unfolds.

When it's all written down, I read it over and make any changes that will make it just right. So it's part inspiration that almost feels more like taking dictation, and part tweaking. And voila! A poem is born!

That's the easy part.

The part I find more challenging is illustrating the poems. I use some commercial fairy brushes in Photoshop, some purchased fairy images, and I create some fairies and art in Adobe Illustrator. I love using my own photography as backgrounds or settings when I can!
