About myMountainStudio

At the top of Trapper Peak, overlooking a multitude of other mountains from the view of an eagle. Montana is my home! :)
Hello ... I'm Nikki Weiss, artisan-designer-creator of myMountainStudio.
So... how do I wrap up who I am and what I do in a nutshell? Hmmm... let's see.
Well, I guess I'll save the personal side of me for my profile, and share here a little about my creative side as it pertains more to my handmade business.
Where it all began....
I first fell in love with creating when I was 5 years old. When my kindergarten teacher asked our class what we wanted to be when we grew up, without hesitation I enthusiastically replied "an artist". That was my beginning. Within a couple of years, I was busy creating with my beloved grandmother. We crocheted, quilted, and embroidered together over the next many years of our lives together.
Then came along a photography class in high school. To put it mildly, I got hooked big time! I loved every aspect of photography... from exploring the world with a camera in hand and learning about ISO and aperture, to developing my own film, to working in the darkroom and watching my pictures come to life in tubs of chemicals and rinses. The whole creative process of making pictures literally amazed me.
From there my handmade journey continued, taking many twists and turns along the many paths I took as I explored a myriad assortment of artistic endeavors. Through it all, I found I have a passion for variety, color, texture, fiber, photography, nature, and so much more in the creative realm.
As my handmade passion picked up speed, I eventually produced much more than I could ever keep for myself or give as gifts to friends and family, so I started down the road to selling locally and eventually online. I've sold in so many places over time, I'm not sure if I can even remember them all. But what I do remember over my many years of selling handmade (about three decades now), is the joy I have of interacting with my customers and seeing the delight they have when looking at my handmade items at a local show and hearing the many compliments. I also love hearing from my online customers with the enthusiastic emails I receive after their packages are delivered. Happy customers really make my day!
Well, to wrap things up so I don't turn this into a book... I decided to simplify things a bit after going in too many directions. I decided to narrow down my products a bit and also my selling venues and markets. I've chosen to concentrate my efforts on just a few of my favorite creative passions, selling at a couple of choice local markets and through my online website and a couple of other venues including Etsy.
I hope you will take a bit to browse my shop and find something you would truly enjoy for yourself or to give as a special gift to family and friends. Be sure to favorite my shop for updates, and feel free to take a look at my profile if you'd like to know a little bit of the personal side of me. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the rest of your day. :) --Nikki
