I loved working with Elizabeth. She was wonderful, quick, efficient and communicative. She turned around revisions in no time and was super flexible and easy to work with. Thank you so much, Elizabeth. I look forward to working with you again in the near future!
Idea girl, artist, and founder of Pretty Sweet Designs, I am a black belt wannabe, master of parallel parking, lover of wine, addicted to brookside chocolates, and living in Quebec, Canada with my wonderful husband and two children.
I graduated in graphic arts in 1999, and have enjoyed working in the design field every since, designing anything from bath and body gift sets for International retailers such as Costco and Target, to designing high school exams for the Department of Education of Nova Scotia. There have been an endless amount of printed items, packaging, advertising, and web element designs in between. Since 2012, I mostly focus on bakery logo designs and occasionally do design work for baking goddesses such as Julia Usher, Callye (Sugarbelles), and Rosie (Sweetapolita).
How did I get into bakery logos and branding:
I became obsessed with printed cookies in 2011 and by 2012 my cookie obsession had turned into a business. Little did I know it was only the beginning of a fun journey that would eventually lead me back to my first career love = graphic design. Seeing the smiles when handing over my baked goods brought me much joy. However, the designer in me just couldn’t resist making graphics and logos for my awesome fellow baker friends, wich eventually left me with little time for cookies. So a decision was made: I kept the logo business and closed the cookie business. Since then, the in depth collaborations with my logo and design customers, combined with the pleasure of watching their businesses grow and thrive, brings me more fulfillment and happiness than I ever thought possible.
When not working on design projects, I can be found in the kitchen baking up some cupcakes with the kids or browsing various websites in search of new design techniques and inspiration.
