The Story of My Shop . . .

As a youth, I was fascinated by everyday, household items that I grew up with & used. I loved Glassware & Pottery in the golds & greens of that era. The family "junk drawer" was full of treasures like the old fold up wooden ruler with metal joints.

On my Shopping Days those are the types of treasures that I look for. Objects that I relate to. I cannot always use them in my home, but I believe these items need a second chance for you to love them, so that their history continues.

So, thanks to Etsy, my online shop is one way I have of selling rescued items.

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns
Contact me within: 3 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 7 days of delivery

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
Returns and exchange details
Purchasing on the internet is not the same as shopping in person, so returns are accepted under the following conditions:

No returns on furniture.
No returns on fabric items as they absorb chemical & fragrance scents from homes.
No returns on any products that chemicals or cleaning agents have been applied to.
No returns on items specifically stated in listings.
No returns on any items that have been used.
No returns on items damaged during shipping. This is handled differently.

For a return, contact 'My Vintage Alcove' within (3) business days of receipt of item.

Upon authorization, buyer has (7) business days to ship the item(s) back at buyer's cost in the same condition received. Unauthorized returns will not be refunded, or returned. If item is not received in same condition sent, loss of value will be deducted from refund.

Once received and inspected for original condition, refund of purchase price, minus shipping costs will be refunded to original method of payment. If an item was Free Shipping, everyone is aware shipping costs. This shipping charge will be deducted from the refund. Refunds are processed on Mondays.

Cancellations are not accepted once orders are placed. If a cancellation just has to be made, a $5 fee will be deduced from the refund.

If item was received damaged during shipping, contact 'My Vintage Alcove' immediately upon receiving the item. Proof of damage is required. Additional details may be given case by case.
Payment
Payment must be made in full and have cleared before the item(s) ship.

SALES TAX: NC residents - 6.75% Sales Tax will be added to your orders as required by law.
Shipping
Please be sure to enter your correct shipping address for purchases.
In the event the correct address in not provided on the invoice, Buyer is responsible for payment to reship item(s).

All items will ship within 3 business days after payment is received, unless otherwise noted.

We are not responsible for missing packages that tracking shows have been delivered.

Shipping Charges also include handling & packing materials.
All items are stored & shipped from my fragrance-free & smoke-free workshop and storage.

DOMESTIC:

Items ship USPS, UPS or FedEx Home Delivery.

Large / Heavyweight Packages with New York addresses may ship FedEx Home Delivery, as they have proven more reliable with delivery to the City as compared to USPS.

INTERNATIONAL:
* As of July 28, 2021, 'My Vintage Alcove' is no longer shipping to the following EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Faroe Islands, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain & Sweden. List is subject to updates.

* As of February 10, 2019, we will no longer accept, or ship orders to Germany due to the German Packaging Act.

* As of October 8, 2021, we no longer ship to Qatar.

* Customers are responsible for all duties, taxes and customs fees assessed by your country. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. We have no control over these charges, and cannot predict what they may be. You should contact your local customs office for further information.

* Please ensure that you can wait the time needed for your package to arrive at your country and go through Customs before it arrives to you.

* When filling out customs forms, we accurately describe the contents, and do not mark merchandise values lower than the selling price, nor mark items as gifts, as U.S. and International government regulations prohibit this.

* We will not be held responsible for shipping damages occurring from Customs opening & repacking merchandise.

* Please make sure you are aware of the laws and fees your country assesses when you shop abroad.

* If International Buyer wishes to return an order, Buyer must notify 'My Vintage Alcove' by Etsy convo within (14) of receipt. Item(s) must not have been used. Original shipping fees paid for item to ship to Buyer, & return shipping fees to 'My Vintage Alcove' will not be refunded. Item(s) must be returned in original packaging & in same condition they were upon receipt for full refund of item. If item is returned used, or damaged, a prorated refund will be issued. Refunds are issued to original method of payment once item is received back.
Vintage items with chips, nicks, crazing or other wear are not considered defective.
Other than the above sentence, if item is deemed defective, or faulty, follow return guidelines above.
If item was received broken/smashed, please contact 'My Vintage Alcove' by Etsy convo to discuss what to do next.

Additional policies and FAQs
If Buyer sees an item in my shop that you would like to purchase, but either you are unable to purchase right away, or the listing needs to be modified for your needs, please contact me so that I can set up a RESERVED LISTING for you.

Please Note: RESERVED LISTINGS are held for (3) business days, and then released for general sale, if not purchased.

If an item is purchased that is reserved for another Buyer, a $5.00 fee will be deducted from the refund, or the amount stated in the listing. No Exceptions!

All Items sold through 'My Vintage Alcove' are not intended for unsupervised use by children under the age of 13.

I take my time & do my best to write very detailed descriptions, but certainly am not an expert in all things vintage, or antique.

I love my purchase, do you have more pieces available?

There are times when I have additional pieces not listed.
If not, I have a wait list & search for requested items.
When the item is sourced, I will send you a message & link to that item in my shop.

Do you have a Privacy Policy?

Yes.
I only use your shipping / billing address, and other contact information
to communicate with you about your order, to fulfill your order, and for
legal reasons (like paying NC state taxes).

Do you accept Layaway Payments?

Yes, I accept Layaway.
There is a $6.99 non-refundable administrative fee to set up.
Payment terms will be arranged on an individual basis, based on amount purchasing.
If payments are defaulted, or a "change mind" occurs, a 20% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
