5 out of 5 starsThis very original book is charming. The illustrations are beautiful and whimsical and I can't wait until my granddaughter is a little older so she can enjoy it. I am going to buy the other book that goes with this one and the calendar. Truly unique, thank you!

5 out of 5 starsLovely little print! I ordered a 4” acrylic frame for this, which was a tiny bit too small but I was able to trim my print down to fit perfectly. I’m thrilled with my adorable badger print!

5 out of 5 starsWhat a gorgeous calendar! I just adore Nadya’s illustrations. The paper is a lovely quality. Shipping was quicker than Etsy predicted & I received it before the new year which was a nice surprise. I appreciate that it was packaged in a study cardboard envelope so the postie bend it.

My art studio
From drawing to illustrating - How my hobby became my work!
I picked up a pencil as a young Dutch girl, and never let it go. I always loved drawing, and spend much time improving my skills. I drew pictures all the way through high school, looking a lot at the artwork of talented artists in various styles. I struggled choosing between drawing and singing at the time, for art and music were my two creative passions that both consumed a lot of time and energy. Eventually, I studied Speech therapy, with a particular interest in vocal pathology and the singing voice. I never stopped drawing though. The urge to express my creativity kept on playing a big part of my life. During my first year of college, I illustrated a first children's book for a hobby writer and I worked on a couple commissions. I really got the hang of it! I loved sketching animals and got a lot of inspiration out of my own pet rats. I graduated as a Bachelor of Health science (Speech therapy at Zuyd University) in 2012, and started my own small business as... an illustrator! I spend just ONE day a week working as an illustrator, but I LOVED it! Over the years I extended my working hours and in 2014 me and my husband Björn decided it was time to take the plunge and start working as an illustrator full time, at home. In 2015 I started renting my own art studio. I mostly work on custom made illustrations for small publications, children's books, wedding and birth announcements and portraits. In 2013 I did a sketch a day challenge for 365 days that has brought me a lot of practice and interaction with people who like my illustrations. I love to hear from everyone who follows my work, it inspires me to broaden my horizon and expand my portfolio.
It's sometimes hard to get noticed in the huge digital pool of multitalented people. But I do believe my desire to draw all kinds of whimsical, fun and unique doodles is there for a reason. I hope you'll join me on my journey and I hope I can enrich your life with beautiful art!

Nadya Slenders
Owner, Designer, Creator
I'm an illustrator living in the Netherlands. I'm married to Björn and during Christmas 2014 our sweet little boy Luke was born. I love drawing, singing, dancing, gaming and watching movies. Other likes: coffee, nature, rodents. I've been drawing whimsical, dreamy and fun illustrations since forever! In 2012 I started my own small company and today I try to make a living working as a fulltime artist. Scary but loads of fun too!

Frequently asked questions
Do you make custom commissions too?
Yes! If you don't find anything in my shop that is to your liking, or you would like to have a painting made of your own pets or family, you can request a painting with your own wishes and specifics. If you send me a message and tell me what you're looking for, I will show you my price list for my various sizes of paintings and tell you when I'm available to plan you commission. Yay, exciting!
Do you ship world wide?
Yes! Wherever you are, I can ship your order to your country. If you are not sure or have any questions about shipping, please send me a message, I'm glad to help you!
Help! Is it possible to ship my order faster?
If you send me a message right before ordering, I can tell you if it is possible to bump the priority of shipping your order at that point in time. I can't guarantee it will always be possible (i.e. during the weekend, when I'm on leave or when I'm having a bad flu it might not be). But I will always try my best to help you receive your parcel asap!
Can you alter or custom make an existing painting from your shop?
Yes I can! If you send me a message and tell me your wishes and alterations, I can tell you when I'm able to finish a new painting for you.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Original paintings always come gift wrapped festively so you get a lovely present to open each time! Art prints and greeting cards do not come gift wrapped.
Larger and framed items are shipped in a parcel. On the outside of the gift wrap, there will be an additional layer of bubble wrap. The parcel will be filled with protective chips and/or air cushions to prevent the items from being able to move within the parcel. All items are wrapped in plastic foil to make sure they last through stormy weathers even when a parcel would happen to get moist. When ordering an art print or a small set of greeting cards, they will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard envelope through regular mailbox mail to keep your shipping costs low.
Can I choose another shipping method?
When you rather choose an alternative shipping method, please send me a message before ordering. I can check for you if there are shipping methods available that meet your needs. For example: in some cases it is possible to get an assurance against damage and loss in the mail. There will be additional costs and I can alter the listing for you to pay for the extra costs.
I filled in the wrong address. What to do now?
Your order is shipped to the address you provided when placing the Etsy order. Did you receive a shipping notification? It is unfortunately too late to alter the address, since the shipping label was already paid for and printed. Your art is (most likely) already on its way to you. If you're not able to retrieve the order from the address it was sent to, I can resend your order to a new address your provide. The costs of the item and shipping will have to be covered again unfortunately. Did you not receive a shipping notification yet? Please contact me asap. There may still be enough time for me to alter the address, if I did not yet buy and print the shipping label!
