About

Interesting Things For Interesting People!

The photo's you see above are of items that are or have been in our shop. They may or may not still be available. If they've been sold we will probably have something similar again. Or, contact us and we'll see what we've got in storage.

My husband and I live, with eight cats - eight dogs - two goats and a varying number of chickens, on a farm in South Central Missouri. We can not turn stray animals away to fend for themselves, hence the large number of dogs and cats. All of them either showed up here or were found abandoned. They all had the same thing in common - they were either sick, scared, too young to survive on their own, or all of these and needed a home. So here we are. :-} Their care and comfort is, in no small part, the reason we have this and three other shops here on Etsy.

NakedBones came about because we had an almost complete horse skeleton along with quite a few goat bones. (All of our animals are loved, coddled and spoiled in life but neither of us are sentimental about their bones. When they die their bodies go back to nature and their bones are cleaned by animals, birds, and insects. The cattle bones are all from family farms of friends who raise them for food. The animals were never in a feed lot or on a factory farm but were raised out on pasture.) Please note - because of the very real possibility of spreading disease and sickness, among other considerations, we will never sell Canid, Feline (either domestic or wild) or any Cervidae bones. Or any other wild animal bones for that matter.

After we started selling bones to collectors, carvers, and artists we found there was a market for rusty iron and various odds and ends for artists and crafters. Then it became apparent there is a market for farm and industrial collectibles. All the interesting and fun stuff that we've been pushing out of the way can be used by a variety of artists and craftspeople to make interesting and beautiful pieces. Or for decorative accents and focal points in interior (or exterior for that matter) design. We enjoy finding and offering the fun stuff. :-}

Our other shops are:

www.SeventhChild.etsy.com for quality handmade items. Hand engraved glass, punched metal ornaments and wall hangings, jewelry, upcycled hanging candle holders, hot and cold therapy corn bags.

www.SundayzChild.etsy.com for quality vintage useful or collectible items.

www.7thStash.etsy.com for craft and hobby books and patterns, ribbon, lace, fabric and trim.

If your decorating style is somewhat more eclectic/loft/industrial/barn than traditional; if you prefer rust to chintz - or rust with chintz; if your art involves a welder, metal blades, or bone carvers, then:

Welcome to NakedBones! Our little shop of interesting stuff.

It has all seen it's time of usefulness and has been retired, in one way or another. Now it's time for these pieces to have new life and purpose through your vision and skill. Have a look around. See what kick starts your creativity or will add that finishing touch.

Our other shops here:
SundayzChild.etsy.com - Vintage
7thStash.etsy.com - Books, Patterns, Supplies
SeventhChild.etsy.com - Handmade

Shipping
We ship which ever USPS or FedEx method is most cost effective and use a third party insurance company where applicable.

We are in the process of changing to calculated and international shipping where possible. Other shipping has been calculated to the furthest point from us and does not always reflect the final shipping cost. We refund shipping overages of $2 or more.

Shipping costs for the contiguous 48 states are listed, one way or another, for every item. If you are in Alaska or Hawaii and the item you want does not have calculated shipping on it yet contact me for actual fees.

Shipping is non-refundable for any reason other than broken, damaged, or significantly not-as-described. On broken or damaged in transit items, buyer must co-operate with the insurance claims process in order to receive a refund.

Any return shipping or other costs incurred for non-deliverable/not-picked-up packages or buyers remorse, including selling and payment fees, will be deducted from the item cost refund issued to the buyer. Original shipping is also non-refundable.

Books ship media mail.

If you prefer a different carrier or method of shipment it can probably be arranged if you pay the upgrade in fees.

We do ship internationally to certain destinations. Contact us to determine if we ship to your location and what the cost will be.

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CUSTOMS, VAT AND/OR ANY OTHER OF THEIR COUNTRY'S TAXES OR FEES. I will not mark your purchase as a gift.

LOCAL PURCHASES ARE NOT CHARGED SHIPPING IF THEY ARE PICKED UP. All sales must go through my store here on Etsy. However, if you are local and want to pick up your purchase contact me first and I will cancel the shipping cost before you buy. I WILL ONLY SELL LISTED ITEMS THROUGH THE ETSY CHECKOUT PROCESS.

We do not ship any bones, plant material, or any sort of working or non working electronic items out of the continental US.
Refunds and Exchanges
We try to note every detail of an item in it's description but, occasionally, something can be missed. If you are unhappy with your purchase please contact me through Etsy's internal email service and we can work it out.

Of course, if something is not to your satisfaction I will refund the purchase price once the item is returned in the same condition I sent it to you. Refund will be for full purchase price minus shipping. You must pay return shipping. Contact me within 4 days of delivery and let me know what the problem is then send the item back.

If an item is damaged or broken in shipment I will work with you to file a claim with the post office. This, from the Post Office website, is what you need to do to start a claim and insure success.

"If you received something damaged or items are missing from a package, please retain the contents you received and all the associated packing materials until your claim is settled. You may be asked to take them to your local Post Office™ for inspection later. Please do not reship the package."

As I said, if it becomes necessary to file a claim, I will do everything I can to assist you with it.
Additional policies and FAQs
We have a limited supply of bones because all of the bones we offer are from our own animals that have died of natural causes or friends have raised for food. By only offering bones from our own or friends animals we know they were well cared for in life. We love and care for our animals while they are here but neither they nor we have any use for their bones after they're gone.

PRIVACY POLICY - We do not collect nor sell any of your information. For any reason.

Frequently asked questions

Do you combine shipping on multiple purchases in this shop?

Yes, when ever possible, and at our discretion, we will ship as many of your purchases together as we can. We will also ship your purchases from all of our four shops on Etsy together whenever possible, again, at our discretion. Purchases will not be shipped together when doing so would risk damaging one of the items or when combining them would be more costly than not.

If, when purchasing from more than one of our shops, you decide you want all of your purchases shipped together you must put a message in the comments section of your orders. Obviously, everything must ship to the same address.

We refund Shipping/Handling overages above $2.

What other shops do you have on Etsy?

Our four shops on Etsy are:

SundayzChild.etsy.com for vintage
SeventhChild.etsy.com - handmade;
7thStash.etsy.com - patterns and supplies;
