Where to begin? It seems that the beginning is always the hardest part. After discovering how addictive my newfound passion for beading was, I realized I wanted to open an online store to share some of these items with others, as well as attempt to raise some money for an independently funded fieldwork trip to Argentina, where I had lived a few years back. As a result, I launched Nanazola in Autumn of 2012.

Upon my return, I had both lovely stories, interesting data, and beautiful stones to share. It is all a work in progress, so really, a substantial part of my "story" has yet to unfold. As of now, it involves lots of singing along to my scratchy records and making a pair of earrings I'd been thinking about after drinking way too much tea. It involves learning how to create things I had always wanted to make for myself-- and feeling so glad every time I hear positive stories from people who have purchased one of my items.
