About

Making inspired and colorful ceramics

I am a professionally trained ceramic artist working and living in Montreal.
Before beginning my career in ceramics, I traveled in Latin America and India and was inspired by the vivid displays of colour in the everyday - the markets, the food, the clothing and the cultures. When I began making ceramics, these influences made their way into my work through bold color and graphic, gestural elements.
I handcraft porcelain tableware that evokes a sense of abundance, vitality, and play. My pieces enhance the flavors of what is being offered in them.
Making sculptural work gives me the freedom to experiment with texture, shape and color. I sometimes post these items to Etsy but mostly post these on my website: www.naomicharron.com
I am a member of the Quebec craft's council and the Quebec Association of Ceramists. My work adheres to high standards of quality and safety. I do not use lead glazes on my pieces.
I enjoy participating in events that give me the opportunity to meet people, explain my work and process and share my passion for clay. I am open to collaborations and am always interested in learning more about my craft and other creative work.

My porcelain ceramics are handmade in my studio in Montreal. My functional pieces are wheel thrown, hand built or cast in molds I have produced. I make my own glazes and use underglazes to apply my original hand carved stamps to each and every piece, making each one unique. I pay special attention to the finishing of my pieces to ensure that they are a pleasure to hold, look at and wear.
Since all items are handcrafted in small runs, they may have slight variations in color, texture, finish and dimensions. These signs of the maker’s hand make them one of a kind.

Shipping
I try my hardest to stick to the processing time in my listings. In the event that I cannot ship the product in time (because there are so many things that can go wrong with ceramics!) I will inform the buyer.

I send my parcels regular mail. The signature confirmation and tracking options are not always available at the posted price. If you would like these upgrades please specify and I will adjust the shipping costs and charge you accordingly.

Delivery for in stock items can take up to 10 business days.
Larger orders take 2-3 weeks to make and then up to 10 days for delivery.

I reuse and recycle shipping materials as much as possible. That means that I will use boxes that are solid but may have traces of their past. I pack my ceramics in a lot of bubble wrap in order to ensure that nothing moves in the box and that you receive your order in one piece. This bubble wrap is recycled too.

If you are planning on ordering combined or multiple items, please contact me through a conversation or through email so that I can calculate the appropriate shipping cost. If you do not contact me I will charge the shipping price in your transaction.
Please note that customers are responsible for any customs, duty and taxes and fees that may be incurred.
Additional policies and FAQs
Email me for custom orders and we can discuss styles and colors.
If you live in the Montreal area you can save on shipping by picking up your purchase at my studio. To do so, please contact convo me to make arrangements.
