From the moment I laid my hands on clay back in 2003 I was hooked. I loved that I could transform a mound of mud into something meaningful and beautiful.
Clay as a medium lets me express myself and make my mark in this world. It also allows me to enrich people's lives, which is a privilege I'm grateful for.
I craft unique pieces for the kitchen, from garlic/ginger graters and butter dishes to fun and colorful cups, bowls and plates.
My calming worry stones are stress relief objects made to encourage focus and mindfulness among children and adults. They're beautiful too.
My Etsy shop is constantly evolving and doesn't include everything I make. To see more of my work, please visit my website: naomicharron.com
I hope you enjoy my work. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

5 out of 5 starsThis grater is terrific -- it works perfectly on ginger as well as garlic, it's way easier and quicker to use than a microplane, and it's beautiful and well made, too. Naomi shipped it out really quickly and was super responsive. Thank you for an above-and-beyond item and experience!

5 out of 5 starsAmazing worry stones! These fit perfectly in my hand and I'm not sure if I like rubbing the front or the back more. Beautiful work on these! I'll be back for more for sure.

I love taking a hunk of clay and moulding it into an inspired object that we can form an intimate connection to.

Some tools of my trade. I adore clay tools. Of course, the most important tool of all is my hands.

This is Gigi, my beagle/basset AKA bagel. She sometimes comes to my studio but mostly loves to stay home and sleep.

Here I am using a clay extruder. It forces clay through the barrel and die where it comes out in a shape of my choosing.
Making inspired and colorful ceramics
I am a professionally trained ceramic artist working and living in Montreal.
Before beginning my career in ceramics, I traveled in Latin America and India and was inspired by the vivid displays of colour in the everyday - the markets, the food, the clothing and the cultures. When I began making ceramics, these influences made their way into my work through bold color and graphic, gestural elements.
I handcraft porcelain tableware that evokes a sense of abundance, vitality, and play. My pieces enhance the flavors of what is being offered in them.
Making sculptural work gives me the freedom to experiment with texture, shape and color. I sometimes post these items to Etsy but mostly post these on my website: www.naomicharron.com
I am a member of the Quebec craft's council and the Quebec Association of Ceramists. My work adheres to high standards of quality and safety. I do not use lead glazes on my pieces.
I enjoy participating in events that give me the opportunity to meet people, explain my work and process and share my passion for clay. I am open to collaborations and am always interested in learning more about my craft and other creative work.

Shipping
Delivery for in stock items can take up to 15 business days. Larger orders and made to order items may take 2-3 weeks to make and then up to 15 business days for delivery.
Please note that customers are responsible for choosing and purchasing the appropriate shipping option. I recommend purchasing tracking and signature options for all orders in order to guarantee delivery. Depending on the location, these may be shipping upgrades. Naomi Charron (naomicharronceramics) will not be held responsible for postal service delays or loss if customers fail to purchase the appropriate delivery/shipping option.
Please note that customers are responsible for any customs, duty and taxes and fees that may be incurred. Delivery may be delayed due to customs issues that are beyond my control.
I reuse and recycle shipping materials as much as possible. That means that I will use boxes that are solid but may have traces of their past. I pack my ceramics in a lot of bubble wrap in order to ensure that nothing moves in the box and that you receive your order in one piece. This bubble wrap is recycled too.
