Announcement   Welcome to Nardie's Art-to-Wear Boutique where you can find an accessory or small home décor item that is an original and is sure to reflect your own unique personal style. Shop also offers some destash vintage treasure finds and quality bead soup mixes that you may be able to use in your own creations.

Creative beadwork and bead embroidery have been favorite hobbies for the past 16 years. I began collecting beads over 30 years ago and have a wide variety of beads to use now in my own creations, along with gemstones and unique contemporary finds.

Another passion of mine is creating small pieced fiber art purses with beautiful fabrics, which I lavishly hand embroider and embellish in my own style in a modern version of the old fashioned Victorian crazy quilts. I use contemporary and antique beads, seedbeads, gemstone beads, original lampwork glass cabochons, dyed vintage lace, silk ribbon embroidered flowers and vines done by hand, various fibers, fabric images, and beautiful vintage glass or fancy metal buttons for closures. This gives these little art purses eye-catching appeal and also makes them a great conversation piece, as they are truly one of a kind.

I want to thank moonlilygraphics.etsy.com for designing my beautiful banner, using her wonderful imagination and amazing graphics design talent! And be sure to check out her jewelry shop too - moonlilydesigns.etsy.com for some innovative contemporary jewelry designs, as she truly has her own colorful and unique style.

Welcome to my Etsy shop! I have loved doing a variety of crafts all my adult life, and have dabbled in this and that over the years. Then I discovered beads when I attended my very first bead show in 1998, and I was definitely hooked! This lead me to freeform peyote, which is my favorite way to bead. Beading has become the most satisfying hobby for me, along with creating small pieced and embellished fiber art purses. I also plan to create some small bead embroidered and embelished wall hangings for my shop.

I love to create something different and unusual, and fun to look at with lots of detail. I also enjoy wearing a jewelry piece that nobody else has, and being able to say "yes, I made that" when someone pays me a compliment and asks me where I got it. So this is a great outlet for me to be able to sell some things I've made (and collected over the years) especially since my retirement.

My shop name "Nardie" comes from a nickname my granny called me as a little girl. That has always remained special to me and reminds me of happy childhood years with granny sharing our home.

Accepted payment methods

  • Money Order
  • Check
Payment
Paypal is the preferred method of payment, although I do accept personal checks or bank and postal money orders as well. A personal check will need 7 days to clear before I ship an order, which is considered standard procedure. With Paypal, shipment will be next day, or next business day. With check or money order payments, these must be received within one week of purchase.

I can put an item on reserve for you in my Etsy shop, but you will need to purchase within 30 days. After 30 days, I can no longer keep it on reserve for any one person, unless health circumstances prevail - if that is the case, you need to convo me.

If you special order an item through a convo with me and we settle on details, I will need half of total amount as a down payment as your commitment to purchase item once it is finished. With larger bead embroidered items, a lot of beading hours go into these pieces, and some further investment on my part is often necessary to purchase additional beads and beading materials needed for your project. Once item is completed and listed in my shop, reserved in your name, I cannot refund the half you paid down on it, should you change your mind and decide not to purchase. If there is a delay on last payment, please convo me.
Shipping
I generally use USPS first class mailing, but customer may request special shipping preference, insurance, etc. I would encourage insurance for items totaling over $50 amount. I cannot be held responsible for item(s) lost in the mail if you choose not to insure your item(s). I pack items in bubble wrap or small gift boxes insde a padded envelope, to insure their safe delivery.

I do keep shipping receipts for proof of shipment and can track an item for you if you feel you have not received it within a reasonable amount of time, you can convo me. If you are away during the day, you may want to check with your local post office to see if they are holding your package, and were unable to deliver it to your mailbox for some reason.
Refunds and Exchanges
All of my jewelry is handmade by myself and I try to insure its durabilty for the wearer. However, there are some do's and don'ts with handbeaded jewelry and my crochet type jewelry. I advise keeping any beaded jewelry separate in a zip top snack baggie, to protect its beauty and to keep it from being tangled with other jewelry pieces in a jewelry box or dresser drawer. Handbeaded jewelry is made using a sturdy beading thread, so it is sturdy under normal wearing conditions.

As with any wearable purchase, pay attention to details of the item in description - size, color, etc. If you are truly unhappy with your purchase after you initially receive it, please convo me. I will be glad to work with you in returning and fixing the problem, or making a suitable exchange for a like dollar amount item in my shop. I want you to be happy with your purchase and truly hope you will enjoy wearing it. I know from my own experience that you will get lots of compliments on your purchase when you wear it!
Additional policies and FAQs
I do all beadwork myself in a smoke free environment. I also make the Victorian crazy quilt style pieced /fiber art purses, and all embroidery work and beading is hand done by me. Each one of my items each takes several hours or several days to complete - the purses each take about a week to complete. A larger bead embroidered necklace can take 2-4 weeks to complete.

My beadwoven and crochet bracelets and necklaces are the size stated in description. If a different size is desired, you will need to send me a convo to request it, prior to purchase, so I can reserve it in your name when it is completed.

All items listed in my shop are one of a kind pieces, all designed and created by myself. I only use quality materials in all of my work - materials used are always stated in my item description.
