About

Textile arts: marbling, natural dyeing, suminagashi, and book arts

Natalie was raised in a family that encouraged creative freedom, and approaches each day in the studio with that attitude. Focused on surface pattern design, she draws on diverse historical techniques to create unique objects. Natalie's work explores methods including fabric marbling, mordant patterning, natural dyeing, and pigment extraction. This approach brings a complex, ever-evolving vocabulary of texture and surface to her designs.

All of the goods are designed and created by Natalie. The natural dyes she uses are responsibly foraged or sourced from ecologically conscientious vendors. A priority is placed on energy and water efficiency in dyeing and marbling.

Natalie divides her time between Cragsmoor, NY where she forages and experiments with natural dyes on the Shawangunk Ridge, and New York where she creates studio work and teaches.

Additional policies and FAQs
Marbled Ribbon:
May be hand washed and line dried as needed. Smooth with a hot iron to remove wrinkles between uses.

Photo Albums:
The albums I offer are bound with blank, acid free, heavy weight pages. No photo sleeves or mounting materials are included. Please use acid free mounting materials to ensure the longevity of your book and its contents.

Guest Books:
My recommendation for a pen that will not fade over time or bleed through pages is a Pigma Micron pen, available in many colors and weights.
