About

I've always had a love for making, stories, collecting. I enjoy playing with ways to make pretty things interesting and interesting things pretty, with dashes of whimsical and weird mixed in.

I graduated in 2009 with my degree in English, but without a plan for what to do next. The inclination to create was there throughout college, even if I didn't necessarily put it at the forefront: as a minor focus in painting alongside my major, then as about two additional years of studying art while I worked part-time and worked on trying to figure out what I should *do* with my life. I feel there was a great deal of growth during this time, and I became more sure of myself and my point of view as an artist during this time.

In 2011, I made an unexpected and serendipitous career move into the world of custom framing. This led me to the small, locally-owned establishment where I currently enjoy working now. Framing has developed into a passion that I like to incorporate as a meaningful element in my work.

Years of dabbling, brainstorming, daydreaming, and curating ideas has finally crystallized into a tangible *something* and I am excited to move forward on this path!

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

To protect your painting, do not spray glass cleaner directly on the glass. I recommend spot-cleaning with a dry cotton swab (i.e. a q-tip). If glass cleaner is necessary, spray a small amount directly onto the swab. Lightly running a duster over the painted area is fine, but do not wipe or rub the glass near the paint; this may damage fine details around the edges of the painting.

Please keep in mind the frame and painting are designed as a single complete piece. The glass is not meant to be removed from the frame. It is attached and fitted in a way that is intended to be permanent, and trying to remove the glass from the frame will likely result in the damage or destruction of the artwork.

Custom and personalized orders

My frame selection and availability is always going to vary; each creature/frame combination will have a special uniqueness. Please contact me if you have something specific in mind, and I will be happy to try and work with custom requests!
