My grandfather, Christian Karl Baur from Stuttgart - Hedelfingen, was an academic painter and learned me early on, I was just 6 years old, how to make paints from pigments. In addition to oil paints, also watercolors. For a child, of course, this was a lot of fun.
Today, 54 years later, my fascination with colors and pigments has not changed. On the contrary.
Today I am mainly interested in the compilation of color groups (usually 6 shades), because I have noticed that beginners like to start with a small group of colors to get to know them well. Only then comes the next step and another color family is tackled.
Due to this system, a complete and very expensive large watercolor box is often no longer necessary and the money saved can be spent on particularly good watercolor paper - I know that savings often have to be made here.
Since I also sell my autodidactic pictures here on Etsy, I just had the idea to offer my beautiful colors here.

Mein Großvater, Christian Karl Baur aus Stuttgart - Hedelfingen, war akademischer Kunstmaler und lernte mir schon früh, ich war gerade mal 6 Jahre, wie man aus Pigmenten Malfarben herstellt. Neben Ölfarben eben auch Aquarellfarben. Für ein Kind ist das natürlich ein riesiger Spaß gewesen.
Heute, 54 Jahre später, hat sich an meiner Faszination für Farben und Pigmente nichts geändert. Im Gegenteil.
Heute interessiert mich vor allem die Zusammenstellung von Farbgruppen (meist 4-6 Schattierungen), da ich festgestellt habe, dass Anfänger gerne mit einer kleinen Gruppe von Farben beginnen wollen um diese gut kennenzulernen. Dann erst kommt der nächste Schritt und es wird eine weitere Farbfamilie in Angriff genommen.
Durch dieses System ist oft ein kompletter und sehr teurer großer Aquarellkasten nicht nötig und das eingesparte Geld kann für besonders gutes Aquarellpapier ausgegeben werden - ich weiß dass hier oft gespart werden muss.
Da ich meine autodidaktischen Bilder auch hier auf Etsy verkaufe, kam mir eben der Gedanke, meine schönen Farben auch hier anzubieten.
