This shop is about making beautiful things with my hands and using my visual creativity to bring emphasis to the colors and lines in natural materials such as wood, stone, and plant material. This focus was developed with my art studies in design, painting, and papermaking. I am able to pursue my work with the loving support of my husband, family and friends. Without them, I don't think I would be here.

My workshop is filled with natural materials for inspiration: driftwood, stones, and flowers. The shelves hold books of favorite arts and crafts, such as impressionistic painting, jewelry making, and papermaking. Woodworking happens in the garage where the inspiration comes from the wood itself; the tree slab morphs through the sanding and finishing process to reveal beautiful colors and textures.

With efforts to be environmentally friendly, materials and suppliers are researched and selected with these ideals in mind. For jewelry, I avoid materials that include lead and cadmium, and include alternatives for allergy sensitivities. When finishing wood, I look for better alternatives for the environment. Shellac is a natural ingredient and is my preferred option for the wood finish.
