Announcement   **** Let the Beauty of Nature be your Tranquilizer ****

** I offer photo prints from Nature as well as unique drink coasters and other 'nature-related' functional art pieces such as Refrigerator Magnets, Bookmarks, and Paperweights which make original, unique gifts for almost any occasion. I also offer other small decor items that can be displayed on a wall, but are equally at home tucked into any table top or bookcase decorative arrangement. Many of my creations also feature Inspirational sayings - to give you a lift when you most need it. I have the good fortune to live in the shadow of Western North Carolina's Blue Ridge mountains, and it inspires me anew every single day. I describe this as 'the place where heaven and earth meet'.

Quite a few of my photographic items are also hand embellished and may also have inspirational sayings printed on them. These are designed to give you a lift every day if you keep it for yourself. Or, if you decide to give it away - as a gift, to a friend who might be down on their luck, or have had a recent bad experience - you will find these items are the types of things that will be kept and treasured long after a greeting or sympathy card you sent might have been discarded.

** Everyday 'store-bought' greeting cards have a place in our lives, but I have found that other types of items can serve a similar purpose and also be used as decorative items in our homes or place of business. So please enjoy looking through my unique, mixed media, hand painted and/or hand-stamped nature creations and my photo prints. Some of these include Inspirational Sentiments, or other color coordinated words to give specific information as well as to enhance the subject of the nature photo print.

** Some of these small format creations are already framed, and others await your creative addition of a frame specifically chosen to enhance your own decor.

** I also sell my original paintings on Etsy as PatAdamsArt. Click this link to visit my other store: http://patadamsart.etsy.com

**You can also find me on Facebook. Just search for "Pat Adams Photos and Paintings" - or copy the below info into your browser window.

About

Nature in all its glory is, and always has been, my inspiration to capture images of the things I love.

I have been toting a camera around almost as far back as I can remember. I had one of those little point and shoot Brownie cameras and it went everywhere with me as a kid. Later, in college, I moved on to a Yashika camera - which I thought was the 'cat's meow'. In college, I learned to develop my own photos and make adjustments to them before printing. As part of doing that, I became active on the college newspaper, first as a staff photographer and then as Photography Editor for our twice a week publication.
As things would have it, I would be at an event to 'take pictures' for the newspaper, and suddenly, the next day, the news editors would come to me and say, - 'the person who was supposed to cover that event did not do it' - and since you were there - could you please 'write up' the story as well as providing the photos. Of course, I did that...and I guess I did it well enough that I eventually also became a newspaper reporter, then the Thursday news editor, and finally, for the last year and a half in college - I was the editor in chief of our newspaper, The Sophian.
After college - I worked for the Wall Street Journal for a while, and then moved to another area, got married, and started to raise a family. This of course reactivated my picture taking activities big time - recording every activity and growth spurt of these little darlings. And over the years, as we traveled from place to place, it became a mix of photos of kids, and photos of the places we had visited.
When the children were grown, once again my photography activities increased with our freedom to travel. And then came the INTERNET - which everyone initially said was 'just a fad'! I created my own web page and sold my work that way at first - but then I discovered Etsy and opened first a shop here for my paintings which were based on my photos - and finally, this shop based on my photos and things I create from those photos.
