About

Letting my imagination sprout wings...

Polymer clay somehow gives voice to thoughts I can’t put into words. I love fanciful children’s books - both well known (the Narnia series, A Secret Garden, A Little Princess), and obscure (Tal and His Marvelous Adventures with Noom Zor Noom, The Cuckoo Clock, Greta’s Garret). I took refuge for years in drawing or building models of elaborate houses with secret passages and magical stairways. I dressed in magnificent ball gowns fashioned out of my bedsheets. I daydreamed. I majored in costume and set design.

When I discovered polymer clay, I discovered a world as magical and whimsical as any that I’d known as a child. I can blend colors as if I were using paint. I can use caning techniques to create a whole garden of flowers, a city full of faces, or a forest full of leaves. I can imitate Japanese mokume gane metalwork or make elaborate chains. I can silkscreen and embed crystals. I can sculpt. I can even make patterns that go together as if they were sewn.

The items in my shop are a treasure chest of imaginings - magic shoes and cranky faeries, the occasional queenly jewel. Come back often to browse - the contents change, so if you like, come back and look often.

I love polymer clay! Playing with clay is my cure for a bad day, and my reward for a good one. My resume? Almost 60 years of imagining, almost 25 years of polymer clay, items featured in 7 brick and mortar stores and two books.

Thank you so much for stopping by to share my enthusiasm for polymer clay. I have been working with polymer for over 20 years now, and have been privileged to learn from the creative processes and technique innovations of many incredible artists. My polymer pieces include opaque, translucent, and mica-shift clay, and may also include 23k gold or composite leaf, embossing powders, sand, etc. I use the findings that I feel look best with the piece, whether sterling, gold-filled, copper, or base metal. The accent beads I use are primarily glass and pearls, although I do have a few stone beads in some pieces.
