It is beautiful, I got it for myself, to wear everyday. I lost my husband to cancer last Dec 1 and I wanted something to wear every day that would lift me up...Perfect...shop shipped as it said, and I am very pleased, would order again..

About

Making a mark within the family.

Learning the trade from the family at first was the easy part, if you can call that easy. My father is stubborn man, so learning from him can be trying at times, but being around someone with so much talent and skill in the trade is contagious.
Despite the insider advantage my brother and I decided to go to jewelry school to get a different perspective, learn something our father perhaps did not know about and potentially get leads for a job outside of the family shop. The school was oriented around creating an assembly line of work, and was more technical, where as the family shop was mostly repairs and custom jobs. After a series of dead end jobs for crappy retailers I decided there must be another way.
Doing online research I decided that selling on the internet would be more advantageous because it allows you to branch off from just the local customers. That's where Etsy comes in. It was'nt as big and popular as it is now so I did take a bit of a risk in investing so much time and effort into the online shop but after years of honest hard work and as much shameless self promotion as I could muster up before getting sick, I manged to make it work.
The creative and artistic side of me was always there from birth, sketching and painting being one of my favorite hobbies, but Etsy proved to be one of my greatest challenges to come. Writing about jewelry and trying to market it proved next to impossible at first. What really helped was actually already on Etsy, such as the success stories, and the sellers handbook. Without which I might have never made it.
My ultimate goal from very early on was to be my own boss and have my own shop. Now that I have it things seem like they can only get better. my hopes and my dreams now lay outside of work, Buying a house and having children to teach love and play with can be some of the few things that come to mind.
