NeoShiki: Art & Fashion inspired by Japan's Alternative Scene

Being educated in the creative industry for years, I have noticed that to be remembered, one must push their creativity further than ever imagined possible since this only promotes improvement.

I believe my creations inspire individuals interested in Alternative Japanese fashion. I inspire them to adjust their wardrobes into something more eccentric and authentic. I make unique digital artwork and silk-screen, and many of my designs are sewn from scratch. If you're seeking items you'll never find in a shopping mall, or you want to avoid the mainstream uniform look, you'll discover some great finds created by a like-minded individual.

NeoShiki (ネオシキ), meaning New (Neo) Colour (Shiki), is a line inspired by fashion from Japan's dark scene. This was originally my Thesis project for school. My best client - and my mentor - Sherry Petrie, suggested I make it into a formal brand. She ran a local fashion boutique specializing in Canadian handmade fashion, for which I designed print material. Anime and Japanese culture was, and still is, a popular source of inspiration in the dark scene. There are not many designers with exceptional skills and insight in all of these areas. She set up a screen-printing workshop, got me a sewing machine, and had my work featured in her upcoming fashion show.

My designs have been featured in local fashion shows, craft shows, as well as TV shows. Collaboration pieces of my fashion and photography work has been featured in Art of Living Dead Dolls, from MezcoToyz.

These policies are made to keep the shop functioning in a healthy and positive state, and for protection against fraud. If there are any unanswered questions, please feel free to ask.

ANY RUDE, TOXIC BEHAVIOUR IS NOT TOLERATED! As you can see from my reviews, I always make sure I provide the best services and products to my customers. Sellers will NOT accept any current or future transactions from any individual with troublesome behaviour. It is NOT TOLERATED not only on this shop, but ANYWHERE.
Sellers have the right to deny service to such individuals, as well as to report them, and we are not obligated to further communicate with them either.
If you dislike something, please do not bother making a purchase from me or send me condescending messages. Every seller, every shop is different. I'm sure there's a shop that can help you instead.

・For protection against scams, free products are generally not distributed.

・My prices are non-negotiable. Everything on the shop are handmade, and the prices are based on material costs and labour invovled. Handmade businesses operate on a different system from Walmart and other big retailers. I also don't profit from shipping costs.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)

Returns and exchange details
Here on the shop, only items with the best quality are listed. I hope that you will be satisfied with your purchase.

Exchanges do NOT apply on:
・Items purchased over 5 days earlier.
・Items damaged under the buyer's responsibility.

Photos and specifications are all provided under the Product Descriptions, so please make sure they match your needs before making a purchase. This is YOUR responsibility. There is a checklist for when placing an order, at the end of EVERY listing to help you.
Payment
This shop currently accepts Credit card payments/Direct Checkout and PayPal, as well as Etsy Gift Cards.
All items, including custom orders require 100% full payment upfront.
Shipping
All shipping will be sent via Canada Post or USPS. Delivery times are as follows:

・Toronto, Canada: 2 to 5 business days
・Canada: 5 to 7 business days, 2 to 3 with tracking.
・US: 7 to 12 business days, 3 to 5 with tracking.
・International: 10 to 14 business days, with or without tracking.

You will be notified via automated Etsy email when the order has been dispatched.
The delivery times are approximate times provided by the postal services. They can arrive a bit earlier or later, due to weather, holidays, pandemics, etc.

I will NOT be held responsible if the customer:

・Doesn't provide the correct address.
・Requests something for a specific date but fails to be responsive or co-operative.
・Doesn't read the Product Descriptions.
・Doesn't select the proper Shipping Options for their needs.
・Damages the item.

There are reminders of some of these conditions in EVERY listing to help you.

・If a customer realizes they've provided the incorrect address AFTER the shipment has already been sent, any postage costs will be paid by the customer. The second shipment CANNOT be sent, until the first one gets returned.

・There are NO REFUNDS if the order has already been marked as Delivered, for fraud protection. Etsy and insurance companies will NOT refund anything. To make sure your order arrives safely, please provide a VALID and SAFE address upfront. If you believe you've been a victim of mail theft, please report it to authorities!

・If any shipment is returned to me, customers may not always be contacted. Returns always have multiple labels placed over the original address, and it becomes impossible to see it. They also get returned months later sometimes.

TRACKING:

・US CUSTOMERS, There is tracking on the majority of listings. If not, the option will be visible at checkout.

・If you need it by a specific date, guarantee of on-time delivery, it is STRONGLY recommended that you get tracking. If not, placing the order extra early (in case there are delays) is recommended.

・If there's any info missing from your shipping address, I will contact you asap via Etsy Conversations. If no response, you will be contacted again in 2,3 days via both Conversations and e-mail. At this point, you are informed that if you are unresponsive for another week or so (specific date will be mentioned), your transaction will be cancelled/refunded. If no response for a week later, as mentioned, it will be cancelled.


DELAYED/LOST ORDERS:

If you didn't receive your order within the time frame provided:
・Wait extra days. It's normal for delivery to be delayed by a few days, especially during the busy holiday season.

・Check the estimated delivery time and tracking info on the receipt, and make sure it actually is a delay.

・Shipments get sent back with Invalid Address labels sometimes, even if the address is correct. Unfortunately, I won't always be able to tell which order they are, due to the labels/stickers placed over the original address.

・Any longer, then it will be further investigated. In this case, PLEASE take the time to contact me via Etsy Conversations so we can discuss in person, instead of filing a dispute right away. As mentioned before, I am always professional and timely with my customer service. Disputes should only be filed if the seller is unresponsive and you're out of options for communication.

・To prevent scams, the same order will NOT be replaced more than once. It is highly unlikely for the same order to get lost twice.

Custom and personalized orders

It depends, so please send me a convo to discuss it. This should be done BEFORE you place the order. Please do not place the order and attach a note with the requests!

An additional cost would be added. This will include time, labour and expenses required to make the item. The cost will vary, and it will be discussed upfront.

Etsy's system requires 100% payment, before any order is prepared. The product can be prepared in 1 to 7 business days, depending on what it is and how long it would take to make it. If you need them by a specific date, please plan ahead and provide enough time for it to be processed.

Wholesale availability

If you're a business owner and interested, please contact me directly. The pricing/shipping costs depend on the purchase size, so we can discuss the details.

You may use my items to resell as they are, or use as part of your products (ie. adding my patches to clothes)

Gift wrapping and packaging

By default, all orders are wrapped in tissue paper. Greeting messages are not accepted.
