I bought several soaps from Dana, and I love them all. She never disappoints. These soaps are great for my skin--very nourishing, and they leave my skin looking great while other soaps cause dryness and breakouts. Thanks so much!

About

New England Handmade Artisan Soaps

Friends and family enjoyed my handmade soaps and encouraged me to share them with others. I love making soap. Each time I whip up a batch of soap in my kitchen, I like to try something new, refine older techniques, and see what happens. I am constantly researching my craft, and each new batch is better than the last.

I make soaps using the cold process soap-making method using only vegetable oils. Cold process soap making involves mixing a unique combination of vegetable oils, especially chosen for their various properties to cleanse and condition as well as their ability to produce a creamy and fluffy lather, with sodium hydroxide, also known as lye. The chemical reaction that results consumes all of the lye, leaving behind luxurious, handcrafted soap. Once you've tried handmade soap, you'll never return to the commercial soaps so drying to your skin. I have even found that I can use little to no moisturizer and lotion.

I video some of my processes and post them on my YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/danahuff.

Shop policies

Last updated on March 16, 2016
My handmade artisan soaps are made from 100% natural vegetable oils, skin-safe fragrances and essential oils, skin-safe natural and artificial colorants, and other natural ingredients such as honey, herbs, vegetable and fruit purees, oatmeal, tea, milk, goat milk, coconut milk, and yogurt using the cold process method. I make my soap in small batches in my Massachusetts kitchen and hand cut each bar. My bars come in three sizes: approximately 3-4 ounces, approximately 4-5 ounces, and 5-6 ounces, though no two bars are alike, and due to the handmade nature of the soap, bars may vary in size. Each bar of soap is cured for at least four weeks before it is listed for sale, resulting in a harder, longer-lasting bar of soap.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal. I regret I cannot accept checks or money orders. Orders are shipped within three business days of full payment.
Shipping
I ship within three days of order to the United States. Shipping may take longer for international orders due to customs slips requirements. Soaps are individually wrapped in glassine bags and mailed in padded envelopes or boxes with packing fill. Shipping via USPS, first class or priority mail. If I am able to ship your goods cheaper than my listed shipping price, I will refund you the difference.
Refunds and Exchanges
Due to the personal nature of the product, I am unable to accept returns or exchanges. Your satisfaction is important to me. If there is ever a problem with your order, please contact me so that we can reach a resolution.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am thrilled to fulfill custom requests. Please note that custom requests for soaps have an added surcharge of $0.50 per bar of soap for each bar ordered. This surcharge does not apply to custom order requests for in-store items that are set up strictly to avoid postage overages or to apply correct international shipping charges.

Custom order requests for soaps that are not in my usual product line require a minimum order of three bars and take a minimum of eight weeks to fulfill. At the time when you make the custom request, you will receive a time estimate, which may be longer than eight weeks if I must order items that are not in stock or if the I number of soaps in your request is large.

Weddings and special occasions must be requested and ordered minimum of twelve weeks before the soap is needed. A down payment of 50% of the quoted coat is due upon order.

Please message me regarding wholesale and consignment inquiries.
