NESoaps is taking a short break

I bought several soaps from Dana, and I love them all. She never disappoints. These soaps are great for my skin--very nourishing, and they leave my skin looking great while other soaps cause dryness and breakouts. Thanks so much!

I am experiencing sensitivity issues with my skin and i knew this baby soap bar would help with that. I was looking for an unscented, very pure and natural soap and this fit my needs perfectly. Dana shipped it quickly. The soap balls in Honeybee smell delicious. I revieved a sample of Johnny Appleseed and like always, i love it. Many thanks and applause to Dana.

This soap is absolutely magnificent. The beautiful technique and use of colors is pure perfection in this soap. The scent is luscious and addictive. I have been smelling it over and over again and i am adoring the scent. I plan to order more. The Maine Blueberry soap is a favorite of mine, as well. The sample of Peaches and Cream smells so so good too. Truth be told, i have not had anything less than a stellar soap from NESoaps. Dana is very talented and i will continue to enjoy her soaps for many years to come. 10 Stars! 😍

Simply divine!! I love the colors, the magnificent scent, the size and the lather is made up of beautiful and moisturizing bubbles. The Maine Blueberry soap is so beautiful and smells like a blueberry orchard. I absolutely adore it. Shipping was very speedy, as it always is. Many thanks to Dana.
New England Handmade Artisan Soaps
Friends and family enjoyed my handmade soaps and encouraged me to share them with others. I love making soap. Each time I whip up a batch of soap in my kitchen, I like to try something new, refine older techniques, and see what happens. I am constantly researching my craft, and each new batch is better than the last.
I make soaps using the cold process soap-making method using only vegetable oils. Cold process soap making involves mixing a unique combination of vegetable oils, especially chosen for their various properties to cleanse and condition as well as their ability to produce a creamy and fluffy lather, with sodium hydroxide, also known as lye. The chemical reaction that results consumes all of the lye, leaving behind luxurious, handcrafted soap. Once you've tried handmade soap, you'll never return to the commercial soaps so drying to your skin. I have even found that I can use little to no moisturizer and lotion.

Can I have your recipe?
As I am sure you understand, my recipes are something I have labored over quite a bit. I do share some recipes on my blog. Recipes I share may be licensed under Creative Commons. Thank you for understanding that I am unable to share my proprietary recipes.
Do you have classes?
Not at present, but feel free to contact me for opportunities. I do have a YouTube channel. I have a limited amount of time and resources, and I am not likely to offer regular classes any time soon.
Are your soaps vegan?
Some of them are. Others contain milks, honey, or cruelty-free tussah silk. However, I do not use animal fats in my soap. Ingredients are posted on all my listings and all soaps are labeled with ingredients. If you are not sure about a soap, just ask.
Are your soaps natural?
Natural is not a term that is regulated by the FDA. I don’t refer to all of my soaps as natural because many of them have skin-safe synthetic ingredients, such as colorants and fragrances. In fact, some of these synthetic ingredients are safer than so-called "natural" ingredients. However, some of my soaps are made with natural colorants and essential oils, and I do refer to them as natural. In all cases, I firmly believe that my handmade soap is better for skin than detergent-laden commercial soaps. I have been using my own handmade soap for years, and my skin is soft, healthy, smooth, and clean.
Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders
I do custom orders! Please contact me with your request. I do not have custom requests turned on site-wide, but if you send me a message, we can discuss your request.
Sizing varies due to the handmade and hand-cut nature of the product, and sizes are posted on individual product pages in both dimensions and ounces.
Handmade soap melts away quickly in the shower because it contains no artificial hardening ingredients. To make your soap last longer, let it dry between uses, and keep it on a draining soap dish. Do not leave it in the direct stream of water in the shower.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Soaps are packaged in glassine bags with ingredient labels.
I am not able to fulfill wholesale requests at this time. Thank you for understanding.
