    5 out of 5 stars

This painting resembles a place I love. The fact that it's a one-of-a-kind original was another key factor in my decision to purchase it, as was the fact that when I first saw it and experienced its impact, it was (and still is) on display in an exhibit not far from my home. And when that exhibition eventually ends, I will be able to go directly to the venue and collect the painting in person, without having to worry about any shipping details or pay any shipping charges. Dealing with the New England Water Color Society (the "shop") this way (via Etsy, a first for me) has been a pleasure so far.

I own one other painting by Russel Whitten and have watched his painting style grow and mature over the years. This painting is the essence of my memories of many years of travels to Monhegan Island, ME. Russel has truly captured the soul of that hill overlooking the harbor on Monhegan as well as mastered his media!
