About

Tea blending, tea drinking and tea set collecting has been a long standing passion of mine and I am excited about being able to share with you!

Tea drinking, tea set collecting and tea blending have been long standing passions of mine and I'm super excited about having this etsy shop platform to share my love of tea with others.

I blend teas with the freshest, highest quality ingredients using an excellent standard of food handling procedures. Immediately after blending the teas I package it into a variety of different container types.

These containers are all USDA food grade compliant and I have invested in several commercial types of heat sealing devices to insure the safety and freshness of my products.

I really enjoy the creative aspects of both the tea blending and the container packaging. I blend some teas for taste and others for wellness. It's fun to re-create the classics and to come up with new flavor concepts when I blend for taste. Blending for wellness gives me an opportunity to support others in their quest for health and that is super satisfying too.

The packaging containers are chosen for form, function and fun too. I've sourced some clear zipper bags that I heat seal for placing larger amounts of tea and some fluffy herbal blends into so my customers have economical options to choose from. Some teas I've place into tins or interesting glass jars which are nice for both storage and gifting too.

Collecting tea accessories to drink from is such a joy. I'm very happy to be able pass on some great deals I have sourced from tag sales, estate sales or thrift stores for others to enjoy too.

When I'm not blending, packaging, or drinking tea I give Tea Tastings in a local art gallery. I have a presentation based on the favorite teas of Ernest Hemingway, Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, Audrey Hepburn and Andy Warhol all who were known for being big tea drinkers.

Teddy Bear Tea Parties? Don't get me started! I have a two year old daughter and 3 year old grandson and they just love Flower Tea :)

Thank you for visiting my etsy shop Tea Studio. ~Carrie

Do you combine shipping?

I have a $4 flat rate shipping promotion on Tea Orders in the US so pick out your tea and fill up your shopping cart. Vintage teaware is priced as marked for shipping. If the actual shipping cost is $2 or less than actual charges I will refund overages. I do require insurance on every porcelain purchase.

Do you ship global

yes please convo for a shipping quote on larger items. Smaller items up to a total of six pounds can all travel first class in one box most every where in the world for about $25 so it does make sense to combine purchases

Food Handling and Safe Packaging Procedures

Safe food handling practices are of utmost importance. I wear gloves and a hair net when I blend and package. I work in a licensed kitchen in New Haven CT. I am also a certified food manufacture. I keep my work areas clean with all natural cleaners. I have invested in commercial grade heat sealing devices! Each handcrafted tea is carefully placed into a USDA compliant zipper sachet/pouch and then I hermetically seal it with a professional sealer.

Teas and Botanicals are also presented in keepsake jars, tins and gift boxes. Containers are all sterile, airtight and sealed with safety banding. My tea is a sensory experience and this is the process to the package my handcrafted tea deserves, enjoy

INGREDIENTS SOURCING

INGREDIENTS: New Haven Teas are pure botanicals. No additives, or fillers, artificial or otherwise are ever used.
SOURCING: Teas from the Camellia Seninsis plant are not grown in the US. They are sourced globally from the locations were their particular type is grown. Fine China Handling & Insurance

I take great care in packing up all fine china pieces. I may use recycled (used) packing materials and boxes. It's healthier for our earth and helps me keep my prices attractive.

I take full responsibility for every item leaving my shop. I purchase insurance on each domestic china order. If an item arrives damaged please convo me a photo and a note. I will then instruct on returns and issue a refund or replace broken pieces if I have them and pursue the insurance claim myself.

For orders shipping outside of the US I may not be able to comply with this policy if the package weighs over six pounds.
