New Heritage Knits -- timeless knits for modern knitters

My foray into knitwear design began in 1993 when I wandered down the crafts aisle of a library in Bremerton, Washington. Bored and restless for something different, I flipped through several knitting books (notably, Barbara G. Walker's treasuries, and a book entitled "All Sweaters in Every Gauge"). Inspired, I bought some yarn and needles and set off to start a new chapter in life.

In 2007, after hearing numerous raves on knitting podcasts about a website called Etsy, I decided to check it out. After years of designing my own knitting patterns, for everything from scarves to blankets to sweaters, bags, hats, and baby booties, I knew it was time to share my work with the world and start earning a little profit for it. I set up shop at Etsy and began offering patterns for sale.

After a time, I also began offering limited-edition hand-crafted stitch markers.

And then along came Ravelry, and my whole world turned upside-down!

Returns and exchange details
Refunds or exchanges will NOT be made for patterns. Please allow sufficient time for your transaction to complete before contacting me. If your invoice does not arrive within 24 hours, convo me and I will attempt to assist you in remedying the situation.

For other items, a full refund (minus shipping) will only be issued if the item arrives damaged-beyond-repair (i.e. rips, stains, chips or breaks, water or pest damage). The damaged item must be returned to me before a refund is issued. It is highly recommended that you request package tracking on your return. I cannot be held responsible if your package is lost in transit.

Refunds or exchanges will not be made for color issues. If the color of the item is an important deciding factor for you, send me a special request and for the cost of shipping I can send you a swatch before you buy.

PLEASE DOUBLE-CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS BEFORE YOU BUY! Exchanges can be arranged in extreme circumstances. Keep in mind that hand-knitting is time-intensive, and that if you need to make an exchange, you may not receive your exchanged item for several weeks or even months.
I currently accept payments via the Etsy Payments system. You may use most major credit or debit cards, PayPal, various mobile payment platforms, as well as an Etsy gift card.

Regardless of your payment method, I will hold shipment on physical items until the payment has been processed and verified. Digital items should be available immediately upon completion of payment processing. Upon completion of the transaction, find the download link on your Etsy invoice or in your Etsy account settings under purchase history.

In accordance with Etsy site policy, VAT and GST rates will be applied to
ALL products for customers residing in affected overseas jurisdictions, including digital media (pdf patterns and tutorials). Please check your local tax policies to determine your rate, as rates vary.

In the United States, your local tax rate may or may not apply to your purchase. Please consult your local tax laws, as rates vary from state to state and change from year to year.

My local tax rate will be applied to your purchase of any item, including digital products (pdf downloads) ONLY if you currently reside within the state of Ohio. The current rate is 7.25%. By Ohio law, this tax rate also extends to shipping charges. (Sorry, Ohio residents. I hate it, too.)
Your physical item will generally be shipped within 2 business days that I receive verification from Etsy Payments that your payment has fully processed. I ship via USPS. Most domestic customers receive their shipment in 4-5 business days, international customers in 6-14 business days. If you do not receive your shipment within a day or two of that time frame, please contact me.

If you would like to track, insure, or put a rush on your delivery, please contact me BEFORE placing your order, and special arrangements may be made.

For electronic media (digital patterns or tutorials), please allow up to 24 hours for your file to be available for download. Files are delivered in .pdf format. To ensure timely availability, be sure to note and double-check your email address as you are checking out. In addition, make sure Etsy is set as a trusted sender on your email account so that invoices from Etsy are not automatically deleted or sent to your spam folder. THIS IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE USING GUEST CHECKOUT AND ARE NOT A REGISTERED ETSY MEMBER, since your verification email will be the only means by which to access your download file(s). I cannot be held responsible if your pdf is not deliverable due to typing errors or email issues.

To access digital downloads, upon completion of the transaction, check your Etsy invoice for a link to download the file(s) to your device. Find a copy of your invoice in the email Etsy sends to verify the transaction, or under your Etsy account purchase history. When downloading, be sure to take note of where you plan to store your file(s).
Additional policies and FAQs

Upon purchase of a pattern, I offer you, the individual PRIVATE purchaser, full license to personally hand-knit an UNLIMITED NUMBER of items using my originally designed patterns for gift, charity, and/or commercial sale purposes.

These rights do not extend to hired employees or volunteer helpers. Each individual knitter must purchase their own ORIGINAL personal copy from which to work.

Designer credit is not required for labeling purposes; however, THESE RIGHTS MAY BE REVOKED AND LEGAL ACTION MAY BE TAKEN if at any time it is found that design credit is assigned to anyone other than myself.
