Journey in Clay

I have always loved to play with clay since I was a little girl. One of my favorite childhood memories is of making miniature cups and bowls from our garden soil. My mother encouraged me from an early age to pursue a career in the visual arts.

I attended Marmara University of Fine Arts in Istanbul, Turkey from 1996 to 2000 and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Ceramics. I also studied Architecture and Engineering Technology at New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, RI from 2004 to 2006.

After graduating in 2000, I opened my studio, New Moon Ceramics and have exhibited my work both nationally and internationally. I have participated in numerous arts and crafts shows in New England, New York, and Pennsylvania. My work is also displayed in stores and galleries nationwide. My primary focus has been to create both sculptural and functional ceramics collections inspired by natural elements and organic forms as well as the use of contrasting combinations of bold colors, textures and patterns.

I currently live and create my artwork in Providence RI with my son Alexander.
