This is awesome! My husband loves it. Not super bright. Definitely more decorative, but a brighter bulb would work if you really needed it. Love it.

This is such a beautiful lamp! The item shipped on time. There was a mistake in one of the parts and they graciously sent the replacement part. I will order from them again!

Bringing the Past to Light!

The idea for our shop started when I stumbled upon a 19th century refuse dump and found a brewery bottle from my hometown. The old bottle was like no beer bottle I had ever seen. The glass was thick, wavy, and full of little air bubbles. In addition, it was ornately embossed with the name of a local brewer who used to brew beer in my town prior to the prohibition.

I was completely obsessed and began collecting other old beer bottles from the surrounding areas. To get others interested in the beauty and history of these bottles I began to make lamps out of them with historical tags that described their journey. This liberal arts approach to lamp making soon caught on in local retailers and finally here at Etsy.

The shop started in my grandmother's garage but we now make an art out of displaying these relics at our 3 man shop in downtown Chillicothe, OH!

A genetic counselor by training I soon realized I had a passion for creating functional pieces of art through my lamps. I now spend my time designing lamps and attending antique shows looking for the next piece of history to adorn our creations.

Peared Creations is a simple metaphor for "pearing" the past and present. The idea is to take old stuff and make it usable and interesting to a new audience. To do this I apply modern design and functionality to give these items a platform to connect with the many of us who are too busy and inundated to notice otherwise.

I also selected Peared Creations because pears resemble the shape of a light bulb which is where I chose to put my focus. I am working to handcraft some light into vintage bottles. For the most part the design is industrial and the bottles are pre-prohibition era.
