About

SMALLEST SHOP, SMALLEST TOWN, SMALLEST COUNTY, SMALLEST STATE: NICK HAUS

NICK HAUS was born of equal parts necessity and dreams.

First came the stuff: a lifelong love of beautiful objects meant that it was time to buy a house to put everything in, and that house had to have a little bit of earth to garden. It had to be near the sea, for cool breezes and mild climes. It had to be historic, because what's the point if a place doesn't have a good story?

The Piano Tuner's Workshop of 1890 in Warren, RI, is that place. It had no heat, no interior to speak of, no foundation and no prospects. A large colony of squirrels came and went through two softball-sized holes in the roof, and they chewed all but three of the rafters to the point of insubstantiality. Nevertheless, it was perfect. In order to fund necessary stabilization and restoration, some of those beautiful objects went to market. And that market remains open to this day -- you're looking at it.

I (Nick) cannot thank you enough for making this possible. Proceeds from NICK HAUS go directly into continuing restoration and establishment of native gardens designed to support local wildlife. Every season reveals its charm through the wavy glass windows of NICK HAUS, and you're welcome to visit.

Returns and exchange details
Happy customers return, and I want you to return! I accept returns within two weeks of receipt of items, which will be processed when I receive the item back in the condition it was originally sent. I do my best to describe items as thoroughly as possible. With vintage merchandise there can be differences of opinion when it comes to grading -- for instance, my "great vintage condition" may look just plain perfect to you, or it may not. Shipping cost to and from is not refunded. Items must be received intact and in the condition they were originally sent.

Please only buy something if you are confident you want it -- in the last two weeks I've had a spate of purchases followed by immediate requests for refunds. This is not fun for me. Please don't do that.
Payment
I'll accept payment in almost any form -- contact me if you're having trouble paying the way you'd like.

Failure to make payment or contact me about any problems with your payment, within 48 hours of clicking the "Buy Now" button, will result in a canceled transaction.
Shipping
Buyer will be provided shipment information upon payment. Typically orders go out in 2 -- 4 weekdays (if at all possible, I get them out the next day). I will always endeavor to use the safest and most economical form of shipment for your purchases.
