Avid Admirer, Collector, and Seller of Vintage Fabrics
I started collecting vintage fabrics many years ago after discovering a box of 1930s floral curtains in my Grandma’s attic. I wanted to use them to make slipcovers and pillows for the house, but couldn’t bring myself to cut up the unused panels. So, I started hunting at flea markets and antique stores for vintage fabrics that I could use for projects. I was hooked. It was such a thrill to find a print I had never seen before or several yards of barkcloth in perfect condition! It wasn’t long before the collection started to outgrow my small sewing room and so, with the help of my husband, we designed a website and I began selling.
The main focus of the business is vintage fabrics; quilting cottons, feedsacks, barkcloth, and drapery fabrics dating from the late 1800's-1970's. I try to stock mostly unused yardage, but drapes and other textiles in good condition are also listed.
I spend many hours researching the fabric pages of old Sears and Wards catalogs and reading anything having to do with vintage fabrics in order to give the most accurate descriptions for my fabrics as possible.
I also love to make handbags, small accessories, and home decor items using vintage textiles. My current obsession is vintage cut velvet upholstery fabrics.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read a little about me and my business.
