Here are some comments from my beloved customers about a few of my jewelry pieces:

"Oh my, thank you so much for my beautiful Rosaline pendant. I received it Wed. And was star struck when I opened it. I love wearing 'enchant' around my neck."

"Actually this isn't my first item: I have two pairs of earrings, another hanging ornament. And I see she has some more yoummy things coming. Her ornaments are beautiful, great quality and you can feel her spirit shining through them. I don't feel like I'm "buying" jewelry but instead spending "spiritual currency" to help her continue sharing her dreams. You can't help but be inspired by her work."

"Dear Nina, I've written to you before but this is my first time to buy one of your pieces. I've read your blog for years and love that you are so open with your readers. I think Walter is just wonderful.
I live in New Mexico and am a weaver by trade, selling handspun hand-dyed yarns at the local Farmer's Market. I also play the Hammered Dulcimer and am buying this necklace to wear to the Swannanoa Gathering the first week in August near Asheville. Most of what I've seen of NC is from your blog. The area where I live is dry desert with a lot of cactus. When you post those pictures of rain and trees and soft mountains marching off into the distance it just amazes me that there are places like that. I tend to forget even though I have myself lived in places that were green and rain happened more than once every few months. The sun burns those memories away and your blog is a lovely reminder that they still exist. I will also wear this necklace to Ireland at the end of September. Another Green place."

This bracelet is AMAZING!! Thank you for making such beautiful work! I'll be wearing it for my warrior exams next week. A warrior exam comes from the buddhist tradition in which we work with the knowing that comes from hearing and contemplating the teachings. The quote on the bracelet will be a reminder to me to listen to the voice within as I answer the questions: "Between us and the stars, there lies silence; and there in the stillness, let us listen to the voice that speaks within us." Blessings, T

Today was Nina Bagley day in Moorpark. I happened to have lunch with my friend, who was sporting a gorgeous Nina Bagley original that she received in todays mail. She was also wearing a beautiful Nina Bagley "Bird Girl" bracelet that her friend Carmen gave her knowing she IS the quintessential "Bird Girl!" Carmen was wearing her Nina Bagley "Story Gate" necklace, Nina Bagley "Fairy and Story" earrings, and Nina Bagley bracelet with the H. Balloc quote. After lunch I arrived home to find in my mail not one, but two exquisite Nina
Bagley necklaces! You take fabulous photos of your jewelry creations but they are so much more beautiful in person! Thank you I am ecstatic!!!"

i love these script earrings, Nina. They have the feel and aura of some very old family treasure handed down through the generations (perhaps from the eldest daughter to her eldest daughter, and so on?) and the patina of the mother of pearl "frames" gleam softly at my earlobes. I love them. Thank you so much!

"This is my first Nina Bagley and it won't be my last. I am so pleased with this piece, my talisman, my necklace of joy. Thank you Nina for bringing a big smile to me today. I will be wearing this all the time."

About

I've been creating jewelry for what feels like most of my adult life; the selling of it for income began back in 1984, when I was living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and doing free lance linen artwork and jewelry for a shop in town while my then-husband attended graduate school. After my sons were born in the mid to late 80's, I began having holiday open house jewelry sales, crafting hodgepodge jewelry as my toddler sons slumbered. After a divorce in 1990, I decided to make my jewelry hobby a full time career, and a true business was born.
Moving to the mountains of North Carolina in 1995 strongly influenced a huge change in the direction of my jewelry designs; ever since, I have focused more and more on the beauty of the natural world that surrounds me. I create pieces that speak figuratively and literally of the colors and textures of water, plants and flowers, stones, wood, roots, nests, bones, minerals, and the creatures that frequent my world. a move in 2005 deep into the countryside near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park - 15 minutes away - fed my hunger for treasure that was found washed up on river shores, as well as for the natural color hues that shifted with each changing season. another 8 years later, in 2013, I moved even farther out into the rural countryside, to the architectural antique-filled log cabin that my parents constructed in 1999 for use as a vacation home. Perched on the edge of a hill in a thickly forested stretch of land, with a stream running through the bottom of the property, this cabin felt as loving and familiar as a dear old friend. i named it Heart Rock Hill, after hanging the wooden plaque bearing those words that I had an artist make for me at the NYC Gift market all the way back in 1996.
My two beautiful sons, Robin and Roy, are now grown and living in far flung places that they call home; in April of this year, Roy married a beautiful gal named Lindsey, and it is lovely to finally have a daughter in the family. I live at Heart Rock Hill alone with my beloved seven year old Springer Spaniel, Walter, and the two of us manage to get out at least once daily for a quiet walk through the woods and to a little open meadow. it is a simple practice in meditation to work here out of my home, in a studio that was carved out of the downstairs garage. a wall of windows looks out into nothing but rocks and trees; I've seen deer stroll past, and families of turkeys. an elk once happened upon Walter and me, just down the dirt road. all of this, I'm sure you will see, is evident in my work. I use quotes from poetry, or words of my own, hammered and engraved into warm sterling and weathered brass surfaces. stones that reflect this love of nature are incorporated into a gathering of other natural materials, to be worn at pulse point or next to the heart. Those who have been collecting my work all these years speak of its calming effect on their own spirit, of the deep spiritual energy that it radiates. this pleases me; I want my quiet message of peace and calm and hope for all things good to be at the very core of what I do. and I hope to be able to continue creating art with my hands until I am so old that I am content to simply sit and watch the sun set slowly behind a bank of trees. and I hope that my work will live on, long after my physical body has wound down.

"Let the beauty of what you love be what you do". - Rumi

i take great pride in each and very item that i design and make, and place great stock in the person who decides to purchase and own one of these pieces. i feel that my designs are destined for that person, and for that reason i do not take any returns, other than a need for repair to return to the owner. i hope you'll understand and respect this decision.
