I have bought Barb a dear friend many gifts over the years. This is the FIRST TIME she ever wrote a THANK YOU CARD! I'll definitely be back for Christmas gifts.

About

A New Orleans Story

With a dad as a corporate nomad, I grew up all over the southeast. It gave me a great appreciation of cultures and a unique way of looking at things. You never really know a place or its culture until you live there. After a 5 year pit stop in Baton Rouge when I was three, I was hooked on the Louisiana Culture. After college, I moved to New Orleans.

A city completely surrounded by water, but none that you can swim in...safely. But hey, It's New Orleans.

For my day job I am a Digital Media Production Coordinator for an advertising company. Being so structured at work yet surrounded by creativity, I started experimenting with Mardi Gras beads at home to give myself a creative outlet. I've always loved to draw and create things out of objects that people would typically throw away.

I currently live in Uptown New Orleans, hence why the beads were my first choice for upcycling. There is a romance that surrounds mardi gras that I am captivated by. There is a certain smell, a certain feeling. I try to capture that in all my pieces.

Each piece I make takes between 1 to 6 weeks to make, depending on the complexity and size. Many "artists" that use mardi gras beads as their medium of choice simply cut the string in between the beads. I, however, carefully make sure that the white string is cut so close that it isn't visible in my pieces. I want you to be able to enjoy the piece close up and as well as far away.

Message me with your ideas about what you would like for me to custom make for you.I will send you a proof of the painted image before I construct the mosaic so that you will be certain that you recieve exactly what you want.
