I am an artist first and foremost.. just one woman, haphazardly trying to patchwork a solo & independent, *super small* home based business. All of my pieces are one-of-a-kind, which is a rarity in this day and age. This poses a unique set of challenges in the world of “fashion”. What I make is original artwork, sewn in my home studio. I do not do assembly line cookie cutter stuff, pumped out on industrial machines. Please respect that this is not just regular clothing and care for it gently. I recommend cold hand wash and air dry.

Every single piece I make takes me a very long time to complete; each one an original work of art in its own right. I should charge a lot more than I do and you will agree if you see my work in person. The photos do not do it justice.
See my decade of flawless feedback and my customers will tell you...

Ask me questions *before* you place an order. I am easy to talk to and welcome any questions you may have.

I truly, ultimately want you to feel good in your garments and be content with our interactions, so please communicate with me.

*If you are a long-time customer and something you purchased from me many years ago needs to be repaired, because you still love it and would like to get even more years out of it, I am totally open to working out an upcycle job on your oldskool Nomadic Roots piece. Just email or convo me, okay? (also: I LOVE hearing from long-ago customers! Makes my day every single time!)
Nomadic Roots does not do alterations, unless working out an Upcycle job on one of my own well-loved, original art pieces.

Sales in the state of Maine require sales tax, which will be calculated automatically when you order.

Once your parcel has left my hands, all customers are responsible for any additional fees required to receive a parcel.
I generally ship most orders within 5 days.

Most domestic parcels are shipped via USPS Priority mail, which includes tracking within the United States. Parcels travelling within the USA will usually arrive to you within 2-4 days from the day I send them in the mail to you. It depends entirely upon how close to me you live.

headbands & gloves are shipped via USPS 1st Class mail, which also includes tracking within the USA.

I ship all international orders via first 1st Class USPS. This is the most affordable option.

Customers are fully responsible for any additional fees once a parcel has been mailed by Nomadic Roots.

Nomadic Roots is not held responsible for any of the postal systems errors. HOWEVER, if your parcel gets lost, or something arrives damaged, please contact me ASAP, preferably within 24hrs, so we can figure out a solution.

I am unable to refund you any shipping costs.

PLEASE make sure you provide me with the correct mailing address.

Due to my remote forest location, I am unable to accommodate rush orders.
Please don't ask. I live in the boonies.
Saying "no" to people sucks.

I charge for shipping AND handling. This covers the cost of your shipping, a small fraction of shipping materials, and it helps me to cover a variety of some of the hidden costs of selling online. There are several fees associated with every single order that comes through my shop, regardless of how you pay for your order. Many sellers choose to include these costs in the item price. I choose to add some of it to the shipping/handling cost, in the flow of integrity of being more transparent, so that you know that the cost of the item you are purchasing is the actual price, and what I would also sell it for if I were selling it in person. If what you pay for shipping does not cover all of my fees, then it comes out of my own pocket

::regarding one-off works of art::
Everything I make is either made from vintage textiles, or hand dyed, hand-cut and hand-sculpted hemp/organic cotton blends, with many exposed raw edges, which over time, will fray beautifully (but wont unravel, due to my painstaking decorative top-stitching and the nature of the hemp I use!). I specialize in textiles with a touch of stretch, whether a small percentage of synthetic Lycra, or a pure, organic textile that has inherent, natural stretch to it,
Along with the general lack of symmetry in my work and the blotchy, sometimes muddy looking dye jobs (this is all whimsically intentional!), please do not expect straight lines or perfectly straight stitching. This is all a part of the charm and character of the unique, trademark style NomadicRoots has become known for.
I am a Freestyle seamstress.
This means: no patterns. Mostly, I just randomly start cutting into the fabric and let Creator guide my hands.
Everything I make is with the flow of heart and intuition. I hope my artwork moves your soul as much as it does mine to create it.
Mostly, I want you to shine YOU.
It makes me smile.

Thank you from the depths of my sometimes black heart 🖤

I am an Unschooled Autodidact. Although much of what I do is self-taught and many of my original, trademarked techniques were discoveries of whimsical experimentation, through my own trial and error......I did receive a very basic, yet crucial foundation from a couple of teachers, who taught me how to thread a needle, how to use a sewing machine, the important "rules" of sewing, and how to read, understand and utilize garment patterns. In addition to the crucial understanding of the physics of textiles, I have an innate ability to understand and manipulate organic textiles with stretch, much the same as the way a sculptor works, or a graffiti painter paints, going with the flow and letting the materials speak through me, and vice-versa.

I thank my lucky stars that these people sparked the seed of creativity within my young, passionate and artist heart. My gratitude for the lessons over these decades permeates to the now and I still have many moments while I sew, when I thank my lucky stars and swell up with grateful tears that people were patient enough to teach me the tools and tricks of this important trade.
