Welcome to Nomads Novelties!

We are a girlfriend and boyfriend duo from Southeastern Connecticut with a common love for vintage & antiques. Some of our first dates were at the Goodwill that was down the street from the college we met at. What first started out as something that we thought we were doing for fun later turned into our full time jobs.

Nomads' Novelties was born out of that common love for 'junk' that we share. We believe that the majority of the items that can be found in our shop represent a wildly popular nomadic time in life: the 60s, 70s, and 80s. On the other side of the token, our shop allows us to be a bit nomadic ourselves. While our roots are planted in Connecticut, our store has taken us all over the country in search of incredible forgotten pieces of history.

For us, Nomads' Novelties is a passion for always being on the lookout for our next treasure. It's the love of the feeling we get when the weather for the next coming Sunday, AKA flea market day, is predicted to be warm and sunny, and the sadness we feel when the forecast says rain. It's the rush we get when pulling up to a flea market, thrift store, or estate sale not knowing what we will come across. If we're lucky enough to go to all three in one day, the feeling is indescribable! We drive mile after mile, skip out on Saturday nights to wake up at as early as 2 A.M. to drive hours away for a pick, and dig through piles of 'junk' to ensure our shop is stocked with unique vintage and antique items every week, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We hope you all love our curation of treasures as much as we love curating them for you!

Welcome to our shop! Here we sell curated vintage goods that we just couldn't leave behind at the many flea markets and thrift stores we visit. We always strive to provide our customers with unique, one-of-a-kind items. New items are added weekly. Thanks for stopping by!

Returns and exchange details
Should you wish to return an item, you may return the item for store credit and you will be charged accordingly for any new signs of wear or damage that was not noted in the original listing. Shipping fees are non-refundable. Customer is responsible for return shipping. Please contact us within three days of receiving the item to start a return. Item must be shipped back within seven days of delivery.

The item(s) you purchase will show signs of use, wear, and age as they are vintage or antique. Each item is described in detail in the description and will have photos provided of any notable flaws with the piece. It is up to the customer to read the description in full and look at each photo closely & carefully. All items are left as we found them.
Payment
We accept payment by credit / debit cards, PayPal, and Etsy gift cards. Connecticut residents are subject to 6.35% sales tax.
Shipping
Orders are shipped every morning Monday, Wednesday, and Friday unless conflicting with our schedules or if a major holiday falls on any of those days. Orders placed after 2PM EST on Friday will ship the following Monday morning. The shipping cost is dependent on the weight and size of your order along with the amount of materials it takes to package it. Calculated shipping is turned on, so the shipping cost is almost always accurate, but in the uncommon event that you are charged in excess we will send you a refund of the difference. If you are buying more than one item, your shipping cost will automatically combine at checkout. If you purchased multiple items in separate orders, we will combine the shipping for you and send you a refund once we package your complete order. Please note that we have no control over the shipping cost.

Insurance is included in all priority mail orders and any first class packages over the value of $100. If you are unsure if your item has insurance, or wish to purchase insurance before checking out, please message us.

IF YOUR ITEM BREAKS DURING SHIPMENT, you must immediately provide us with photos of the damage to the item, as well as photos of the box it came in and the photos of the packaging (ie: bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc.), along with the label on the box. We cannot file insurance claims without all photos available to us.

We cannot be held responsible if the item is shipped to the incorrect address (for example, if you moved but forgot to change your old address to your new address). It is up to the buyer to ensure that their shipping address provided to Etsy is current and up-to-date.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR STORE CREDIT FOR LOST OR STOLEN MAIL. READ BELOW FOR MORE INFO.

PLEASE NOTE: orders valuing under $100 that are shipped as first class DO NOT have insurance. i.e.: jewelry, clothing, pins, and patches under $100 all ship as first class. If you would like insurance or are not sure if your order is insured, please message us and we will charge you accordingly as insurance is an added expense. Insurance will protect you against lost in transit or damaged mail, but will NOT protect you against stolen mail. Please note that once an item has been marked as delivered but is not in your mailbox, there is nothing that we or the post office can do as it is considered stolen and it is now a matter for your local authorities to handle. The only protection against mail theft is to request for signature confirmation, which means your mail will only be delivered to you if you physically sign for it. Please message us for signature confirmation so we can charge you accordingly as this is an added expense that the customer is responsible for paying for if they wish to add it to their order. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN PACKAGES ONCE THEY HAVE SHIPPED. PLEASE TAKE UP ALL LOST IN TRANSIT MATTERS WITH USPS, AS IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY ONCE WE HAVE SHIPPED YOUR ORDER. WE DO NOT REFUND OR GIVE STORE CREDIT FOR LOST OR STOLEN MAIL - NO EXCEPTIONS.

IF YOU FILLED IN THE INCORRECT MAILING ADDRESS AND REALIZE THAT YOUR ADDRESS WAS INCORRECT AFTER WE SHIP YOUR ORDER, there isn't anything we can do but wait and see if the package comes back to us. Please note that this could take several weeks or months for it to be sent back to us if the resident at the current address is kind enough to send the package back. If we receive the item back, the buyer is responsible for any extra shipping charges. It is up to the buyer to make sure that their address is correct prior to purchasing. We will not provide any refunds for items that aren't received due to negligence on the buyers end.

US residents charged sales tax: We are not responsible for sales tax charged outside of Connecticut sales as the tax is automatically collected on behalf of your state by Etsy. If you have any questions in regards to sales tax, please contact Etsy directly as we do not have any control over it.

International Buyers – Please Note:

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. We CANNOT and WILL NOT mark international orders as gifts, so please refrain from asking. If a package is returned to us due to refusal to pay import taxes, there will be a 20% re-stocking fee.

Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.
