    Hi - my name is thora// the girl behind the NORTHERN COTTAGE shop nestled in a little cottage studio in the BiG woods.

    I've made hundreds of quilts and garlands since opening this bustling shop & just love the thought of these goods being loved in their new homes or as a part of a special day or event

    I come from a long line of artisan mamas...Hardworking, beautiful women!! I'm so VERY HAPPY to be able to create for other HARDWORKING, BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, their BABIES and LOVED ONES!! I was named after my great grandmother who settled her beautiful farm with her beloved husband in the late 1800's // I often think about the PIONEER life...HARD but rewarding, satisfying work....settlers who had to make-do but still made things of PURE BEAUTY. I hope to embed that spirit of RUSTIC MODERN CHARM into each of the items I make for the Northern Cottage shop. I hope the recipients of those items feel that rustic spirit and the love ♥ that goes into each and every item, too. Thank you so very much for helping to keep our home fires burning and joining me on this journey.

    Welcome to Northern Cottage on etsy!! I'm so glad you found your way here. I'm tucked away here in my sweet little cottage studio in the BiG woods sewing away for you and your loved ones ♥

    All quilts, garlands and other goods are uniquely handmade using a variety of beautiful fabrics so each one is wonderfully unique and ruffley, scrappily, perfectly imperfect (fully intended to be so!) Currently, many items are completed and ready for shipment (so no need to wait!!) but that also means that when it's gone its gone - ♥ Alternatively, many goods are made-to-order & can be customized with YOUR CHOSEN COLORS & STYLE.

    I want you to be absolutely delighted with your purchase. Should you have concerns regarding your order, please convo me within 5 days of receipt. Any returns/exchanges are approved based on our discretion on a case by case basis - if we decide a refund or exchange works best, returned items must be in original condition, sent with delivery confirmation tracking number and postmarked within 7 days of receipt // may be subject to a 20% restocking fee // no refunds on custom orders // buyers are responsible for all shipping costs.
