5 out of 5 starsI was Looking for a quilt that was made in Colorado and i came across Northern lodge which just grabbed my attention. I sent Patti a message asking about her quilts and what I was looking for and Patti just went above and beyond helping me to achieve the perfect custom size, color and lay out. Patti was so patient with all my questions and absolutely explained everything I needed to know . She’s kind and so helpful, she’s like having a BFF Online lol. Once the quilt arrived, which didn’t take any time at all, i was amazed at the quality and it is absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way. I am indeed going to be ordering more..

Colorado cabin built 1926. One of many cabins in which I've lived. Sadly this cabin was lost in the Black Forest Fire

Our cabins. My Dad hauled the supplies to build these cabins, with waves slopping into the boat across Rainy Lake.

Mediocre berries were not acceptable to my Dad. We walked or canoed miles to wild pick the biggest berries for our jam.

NW Ontario..my connection with nature and love for its preservation has always been the cornerstone of my work.
Cabin Sweet Cabin
My very first memories are living on Rainy Lake in NW Ontario..I was awakened by the call of crows in the morning. After a delicious breakfast of wild blueberries or raspberries atop a stack of pancakes, I often joined my dad exploring the forests and lakes around me. My dad was an amazing mentor..filling my brain with the wonders of Science and instilling a deep respect for Nature within my soul.
For most of my life, I have chosen to honour the simple lifestyle of my childhood by living in cabins..either on a lake, next to a creek, or clinging to the edge of a mountain ridge. Living in a cabin is like being on a vacation every day.
I find great serenity in connecting with Nature, and have chosen to be a Biologist as a career. I would gladly walk around in the woods for FREE, but it sure is great to be paid to do what I love so much.
My mother was an amazing artist and in charge of "rainy day" activities. On Rainy Lake, you do have some rainy days. My Mom taught me to sew, knit, embroider and gave me the creative license I needed to share my love of the outdoors in my work.

I was raised on an island in NW Ontario, surrounded by the beautiful waters of Rainy Lake. There I developed a deep appreciation for Nature and the wildlife around me. My work is intended to reflect and share my love of our beautiful planet with you.
