I watched my great grandparents and my grandfather do beadwork and my grandmother taught me to sew. I started doing beadwork when I learned from a close freind and started helping her with regalia orders. Mostly lazy stitch work at first and then slowly onto flatwork, and then designing and making my own designs. I would like to think that I have developed my own sort of beadwork style. I love bold,bright colors and making out of the ordinary beadwork with pop culture influences.
I had been making custom orders and so I decided to become my own boss and start doing beadwork full time as a living. I also have started making baskets and clothing items. In the future I hope to start making more regalia items, moccs and earrings.
