Nude Dolly, Est. 2014

Nude Dolly is my 4th etsy shop I've opened, but I currently only have two active shops open, where I sell fun novelty apparel. I started my etsy ventures when I wanted to sell my handmade jewelry online. That shop did just okay- there is so much competition on here, so the jewelry was a hard sell. That shop was more of a way to pay for my jewelry making hobby. In 2012 I was engaged and as I was searching for unique wedding pieces, I realized- 'I can do that!' That is when I started my pride and joy, Prim and Proper Boutique ( PrimAndProperB.Etsy.com ). Prim and Proper was originally just a little business for me to make some money to help pay for the wedding, and I had no clue it would turn in to such a success and make me "real money". I made enough money when I originally launched it, that I got to buy my dream dress from Monique Lhuillier, my dream shoes by Christian Louboutin, and my dream venue at the Four Season, Bora Bora. Unfortunately two months before the wedding, I found out my fiancé of 6 years was cheating on me so I obviously called off the wedding. BUT with all that behind me now after three years I'm so thankful for the road that all took me down. I would have never had the idea to start a wedding shirt shop that would be able to support me and is my dream job! The majority of my revenue comes from that shop, where I have over 11,000 customers and 2,700 five star reviews. Prim and Proper focuses on wedding/bachelorette themed apparel. But like most entrepreneurs, I wanted the thrill of starting a new venture. I really wanted to make funny and sassy shirts, which is when I started Nude Dolly in 2014. It's been so much fun creating these fun shirts. I love when my friends and family are like, "hey, you know what what be a good shirt idea?!". It's fun brainstorming these shirt designs. I really love what I do and am thankful for all of the customers who support my small business!

Prim and Proper Boutique and Nude Dolly are more than just my full time job; it's my life. I am the sole owner and operator, and sometimes that comes with its challenges. Luckily I am single so I am able to devote 100% of my time to my business and my customers. Being able to financially support myself from this business is a dream come true. It definitely fits my personality to be able to work from home and for myself. Sometimes working for yourself can be difficult because you have to be disciplined and very structured in order to succeed. Time management is also very crucial. When working, I spend about 10% of my time answering customer emails, 10% on packaging and shipping, 75% on making the products, and 5% on miscellaneous things that need to get done. One of my biggest challenges is probably getting people to understand this is a full time job. Most people think I'm just sitting in my house doing arts and crafts, but really there is much more to it. Majority of people have a job where they are responsible to fulfill a single role, but I have to perform ALL roles of a company, just on a smaller scale. i.e. marketing, sales, customer service, shipping, inventory, web design, product design, R & D, etc. And like other self employed people, the stress of needing your company to succeed so you can pay for health insurance and contribute to your retirement can sometimes weigh heavy on me. However, I believe my determination and drive will continue to grow the success of my shop.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would never be where I am today without my mom. Sadly she passed from cancer when I was 24 and never got the opportunity to see my business, but I owe her everything. In 1987 she adopted me from S Korea and raised me in San Jose, California. In that alone, I am so lucky and grateful. She sent me to the best private schools in the Bay Area and opened every door she could for me. My mom was a high school teacher and could sometimes be overly strict, but as I get older I am pretty pleased with how I was raised. She taught me to treat others the way I want to be treated, which is also a rule I live by when conducting business. I make sure to treat customers exactly the way I would expect to be treated as one. Even when I get the more difficult requests from customers, I make sure to treat them with respect. Every time she would drop me off at a friend's house while I was growing up she would say "Mind your Ps and Qs". She said it so much to me that I even opened my 4th Etsy shop called Mind Your Tees and Qs, where I sell funny shirts (now called Nude Dolly- www.NudeDolly.Etsy.com ) . I've been through a lot at a young age and have only been able to survive and endure the chaos because of how I was raised and the adult my mom molded me in to becoming. I wish she was here to see the person I have become because I know she would be so proud of my little business and its success.

My family and friends are constantly giving me great ideas for shirts and makes it fun to incorporate their ideas in my business. Payment
Purchasing on Etsy is like purchasing on any other retail website: You place your order and pay, and then receive your order in the mail. Etsy processes the payments and sends my shop the orders. Tax will only be applied to CA residents. If you need to cancel your order (before it has shipped only), please notify me immediately so I can issue you a refund.
Shipping
Orders are made on a first come first sever basis. While some orders are shipped out within 1 to 5 business days, other larger orders may take 2 to 3 weeks to ship out. It all depends on the time of year and the workload I have. I work 10 to 15 hours a day on getting orders out and answering customer emails. Please know that your order is my top priority :)

Please remember I need some time to make the items. I am the only one in my shop, so during peak seasons I can get a little behind (i.e. Christmas, Valentine's Day, St Patrick's Day). While most customers get their items within two weeks of ordering, I always suggest ordering as early as possible; even months ahead of time. I do orders on a first come first serve basis, so when you contact me to make your order and send it out the same day, remember that you are cutting the production line of about 60-70 pending orders.

I never guarantee an exact delivery date. I can only promise you the day I am going to ship the item out. Since the USPS delivery is out of my control once I drop it off at the post office, I do not like to make promises that are really out of my hands. That being said, I have only had 1 out of 1000 packages get returned to me, due to the customer providing the wrong address. Again, this is why I suggest ordering early because stuff just happens!
Refunds and Exchanges
All pieces are made to order, which are therefore final sale. There are always special circumstances that occur, but for the most part, I do not accept returns or exchanges. Please read the item's entire listing description before purchasing. I try to describe the items in great detail and answer all questions there. All items are made to order so when you return an item, it is thrown away and is a loss for my business and my family. If any item is delivered to you damaged, I will 100% return or exchange it for you. From the thousands of orders I have sold, I've really only had less than 10 actual issues where I needed to do an exchange. You can see from my feedback that 100% of my customers are satisfied with their orders :)
Additional policies and FAQs
** I highly suggest including your phone number in your order's notes section when checking out. Many of my emails and etsy convos have been going to my customer's spam, which can cause days and weeks of a delay.

Q: WHEN WILL I GET MY ORDER?
A: On average it takes a week and a half to two weeks to get your items after placing your order. However I HIGHLY suggest ordering as soon as possible (even months in advance). My suppliers will randomly run out of sizes and colors, so it is best to order early so you can get your first choices in what you want to order. Also, there have been USPS delays this last year and orders have been taking longer to mail than usual. For international orders, packages can take 2-5 weeks to deliver.

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE SHOP TO RESPOND TO MY CONVO?
A: I am committed to responding to 100% of my etsy convos and emails. I have responded to over 9,000 etsy convos in just this shop of mine (I have 3 running shops on etsy). You can also email me at info [!at] PrimAndProperBoutique.com or call my office at (408) 564-8369. Please allow up to 24 hours for me to respond since I am the sole owner and operator of my shop.

Q: THERE IS NO WHERE TO SELECT MY SIZE I WANT. WHAT DO I DO?
A: In the notes section when checking out, there is a place where you can type "Notes to Seller". Here you can type in the order details. Please include the date needed by and your phone number in case I have any questions about your order.

Q: I WANT THE DESIGN TO BE ON THE BACK OF THE SHIRT, NOT ON THE FRONT LIKE IN THE PICTURE. CAN YOU DO THAT?
A: All items are made to order. I do not make the apparel, I just affix the designs. If you would like the placement of the design to be somewhere else on the clothing that is not shown in the picture, that is no problem! Just let me know where you would like it and I will make it happen. You can let me know these details in the notes section when checking out- be very specific.

Q: HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE I AM?
A: Descriptions of the sizing is in each listing. I try to be as accurate as possible since these are final sale. Almost all pieces are true to size. Out of the thousands of pieces I have sold, I've had less than 10 actual issues with sizing. Please feel free to send me a picture of the recipient and I will give you my best opinion as to which size will work best.

Q: WHY HAS MY ORDER NOT SHIPPED WHEN THE "SCHEDULED SHIP DATE" HAS ALREADY PASSED?
A: I ship most orders out before the expected ship date. However this is just a general estimate as to when your order will be mailed out. If you need your items immediately, please choose priority or expedited shipping at checkout. I am the only creator in my shop, so I can get pretty busy during the holidays and wedding season (April-August). I suggest ordering during the off season for faster shipping and lower prices!

Q: CAN YOU PERSONALIZE EACH ITEM WITH NAMES AND DATES?
A: Yes, I do personalized pieces. There is an additional charge between $6-$12 extra per piece to customize.

Q: CAN I GET A DISCOUNT?
A: I try to price all items at a competitive price. I offer some of the lowest prices online for these high quality products. This is my full time job so I do work hard on my pricing model to offer fair prices :)

*I really work hard to satisfy and please all of my customers. I have gone as far as driving 2 hours to get an order to a customer because USPS randomly lost her package and she needed her shirts by the weekend. I really try to live by the golden rule in not only my personal life but my professional life as well. Almost on a daily basis I'm sure you've dealt with a business that has just terrible customer service- I know I do at least. I strive to always treat my customers with kindness, respect, and gratitude.
