The Heart Behind Nungha
Nungha was created from the belief that art should make people feel something.
For many people, art is connected to memory — a feeling, a moment, a home, a culture, a version of themselves they never want to lose. Sometimes it brings comfort. Sometimes motivation. Sometimes it simply brings warmth into a space during difficult times.
That idea sits at the heart of Nungha.
Growing up without much money, creativity often came from making something out of very little. One of the earliest memories behind the brand came from wanting posters and artwork that simply couldn’t be afforded at the time. So instead, a simple wrestling poster was designed, printed at home and sold at school for £3.50. It was a small moment, but it revealed something powerful — art could create emotion, excitement and connection.
As time went on, creating became less about simply making images and more about telling stories through atmosphere, emotion and culture.
Nungha comes from a Shona word connected to energy, movement and taking action — the feeling of continuing to create and move forward even when life is difficult. That spirit became the foundation of the brand.
Built together as a couple with a shared love for art and storytelling, Nungha became a creative space where experiences, emotions and inspiration could be expressed visually. Many of the pieces are inspired by moments lived, conversations shared, memories, atmosphere and the beauty connected to Africa — blending culture with calm, modern luxury interiors and timeless earthy design.
Every artwork is created with the intention of bringing feeling into a space, not just decoration. Warmth. Reflection. Calmness. Strength. Nostalgia. Presence.
Because the best art doesn’t just sit on a wall.
It reminds people of who they are, where they come from, what they’ve overcome, and the feeling they want their home to hold.
