About

Pottery that is hand made with love and an appreciation for playing in the mud!

Finding a medium and a personal style as an artist takes time. I should know--I've tried it all: watercolors, acrylic painting, colored pencils, printmaking, and needlecraft. When I see something cool, my first thought is: How was that made? Followed quickly by, Could I make something like that? I always have the same answer. I'm pretty sure I can. Thus my love of all things art.

But my new love--pottery-- is a little different. I can't seem to get enough of it. Right now I'm still in the 'try everything" stage. Wheel throwing, slab building, textures, surface decorations and sculpting give me a lot of areas to explore.

My clay studio is a place of joy. It is full of projects in various stages of completion. There are slabs of clay waiting to be smoothed, recently created cups drying, plates waiting to be bisqued, pots waiting to be glazed and shelves full of completed items waiting to be sold. It's bright and spacious and I love spending time there. I love bringing people in to show them what I'm working on. I love it when friends or family ask me to make something for them.

Creating art is a labor of love. Continuing to find new and inventive ways to express that love is path I hope to follow for the rest of my life and I'm happy to be able to share my journey with you.

Playing with clay makes me happy. There is something magical about turning a piece of earth into art or a functional item that is loved and appreciated by someone other than yourself. Create. Explore. Enjoy life. I can't wait to see what comes next!
