I am so excited to have this book in my collection. The cover is in disrepair, but that doesn't take away that this is a gem for it's age. I appreciate the care you've taken in sending me this great piece of literature it will be enjoyed so greatly.

Although the book focuses on the benefits of free trade, The Tariff Idea is a brilliant presentation of free market economics -- in 80 pages. Clear, concise reading for readers as young as high school students. A gem of a book!
Collecting books is our business!
The idea of owning a book store was something that had been brewing in my mind for quite some time. It has always been hard for me to pass by a thrift store, flea market, or library without wanting to go in and see what treasures I could find. Like most all of us here on Etsy the idea to open a store starts with being passionate about something we love, and my case was no exception.
So the roots of my store began with my infatuation with books. However, at the time I had recently started college, and I didn't have the time or the ambition needed to start a store. Honestly I was just happy to continue collecting.
Then, in 2012, my mom came to me saying she couldn't find a job, and with the economy in the state it was in, I couldn't really blame her. We tossed around some ideas, and she even tried working at a temp service on occasion, but nothing was stable enough or close enough to home for her to keep doing that.
Finally we came up with the idea of opening a business since my mom had run a few small shops before, and I was just really fond of the idea. Settling on the type of business we would run was quite easy due to the fact that I had a storage unit full of old books, and she had the time to open and manage the shop. And that's how Ol' Curiosities and Book Shoppe was born.
We opened our store in May of 2012, and opened our Etsy store in May of 2012 as well. Since opening, we have been able to move from our original store location to a new and larger location. We also added another member, Kristen to our team. Kristen is our office manager and helps my mom oversee the day to day activities of the shoppe.
In our spare time, we like to spend time with our families, read, and hit up estate sales and thrift stores looking for new "old" books. Or, as I call it, treasure hunting.
Here at Ol' Curiosities we love books, and there is no greater joy to us than finding a home for our books with our beloved customers. Thank you so much for stopping by our page, and reading our story. We would not be where we are today were it not for our wonderful customers.
