Video summary: Jon wearing our Light Up Goggles

Steampunk * Fantasy * Gothic * SciFi * and Just Plain Weird

Our motto is Somniamus Ergo Facimus: we dream, therefore we fabricate! We make whatever we feel like making, and believe that every Octopunx creation has an owner out there somewhere in the universe just waiting to encounter their weird new treasure. We're happy to take on custom orders, experiment, and just make things up as we go along. We regularly tour West Coast conventions, faires, and festivals -everywhere from San Diego to Seattle, and roam to points East whenever we can, seeking out new adventures and inspiration. We hope to see you out there soon :)

Octopunx is a joint venture by Dava Ellinger-Linville and Jon Linville (Dava Design Est 2004), and Kerin Schiesser (The Robot Angel Est 2008), with help from Marilyn Peters and Kyrie Otero. We changed our name from DDRA Steampunk to Octopunx in 2017. We frequently partner with Citrus Atelier (https://www.etsy.com/shop/CitrusAtelier).

Octopunx is a 100 percent smoke free shop (but there will be cat hair).

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Yes! We do custom. Please contact us through Etsy Conversation. Most items can be customized at no additional charge. We only charge extra for items requiring us to order materials only for your project (i.e. something we don't normally use) or add extra labor for your item. Full custom items (design from scratch) are time and materials based. Dava's time to do the Estimate is free, any artwork beyond the preliminary sketches/layout is charged on a per hour basis. Custom items are non-returnable and non-refundable except in cases of shipping damage or warranty issues. Buyer is responsible for reporting any issues within 3 days of delivery.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Jewelry items include gift box. Please message us for gift packaging on other items.

Holds and Layaway: If you would like us to hold an item for you, please message us. We hold for 48 hours. If your item is not purchased within that time it will be returned to stock. Due to new marketplace laws, Octopunx no longer accepts Layaway Requests. If you need to make multiple payments, please use a credit card, savings plan, Klarna, Pay in Four, etc.

Allergy Warnings

If you are concerned about any potential allergic reaction to a product, please feel free to contact us.

Jewelry: If you need hypoallergenic earrings, please message us and we can use niobium earwires. Jewelry with vintage parts may have leaded glass or nickel metal content. All metal parts are lead and cadmium free. Modern parts are nickel free unless otherwise stated. Most metal parts will have copper content.

Personal Care Products: If you have had an allergic reaction to any scented products or nut products you may want to avoid our scents and oils. With any scented product, some individuals may experience respiratory or skin irritation. If you react, discard the product immediately.

Care instructions

Please treat your Octopunx jewelry gently! We recommend cleaning with a soft cloth. Hand Painted items may not withstand soap or sanitizer, but gentle rinse with cold water is fine. Take off rings when washing hands or using sanitizer to protect the plating on the metal and prevent tarnish.

Goggles can be cleaned with a soft cloth. They should be transported and stored in a box or bag to prevent damage to lenses or paint. Minor water exposure will not cause any damage to the lenses or paint. Saltwater, chlorine, or other chemicals may damage your goggles. If you plan to attend an outdoor event where it will be very dusty we recommend making sure your design has outer glass lenses.

Sizing details

All size details are estimated. If you need precise measurements for any item please feel free to contact us and we'll get out the calipers! Rings are adjustable unless otherwise stated. If you would like us to size the ring for you before shipping, please add a note to your order. Sizing is limited by materials but we can always try to meet your needs.

Imperfections vs Damaged Goods

What visible flaws are not considered damage?

Injection Molding Flash is not damage, it's a consequence of the acrylic manufacturing process. We hide the Flash as much as possible when creating items, but a tiny amount may still be visible.

Minor wear to Circulated Vintage items. Vintage materials are inherently imperfect as some minor wear or patina is to be expected. We inspect, clean, and grade all items. Any item with noticeable cosmetic flaws will be clearly marked "AS IS" and sold at discount.

Any damage on your received items that is not in listings should be reported to us immediately for potential insurance claim or account adjustment. Keep all items and packaging until claim is resolved.
