O'Dell Studios Through the Years

O'Dell Studios is itself many things but all of them are me and my family. We are artists and craftsmen and so our story is a long one with many twists and turns. I started building these "wallets" or card holders - honestly I need to come up with an official name - mainly because I wanted one. I had already discovered that I could make something like "Micarta" myself using fabrics and paper, and I realized I had access to a very unique, durable material with virtually limitless color possibilities. Understand that Micarta is a brand of material which can be purchased commercially. However, I wanted more color options and the ability to make special runs and a variety of combinations. When you buy one of my wallets, you have one of very few, and in some ways no two are alike, made from components I crafted. Even though paper and cotton are materials that we're all familiar with, they take on a new life in a sturdy, durable package. What were once soft, flexible and fragile now have rigid structure and new functionality, new lines and form.

I came to etsy because I believe they represent and support the craftsman which is something that has been lost in many ways in America. I believe all people wish to create with their own mind and hands, useful things for their communities. True trades and skills have been relegated to "hobbies" while I think those skills are the heart of a powerful economy, entrepreneurship and capitalism. My hope is to build wallets and eventually expand them into other models, then post them as they are created. Thank you for reading and looking.

O'Dell Studios started life as an automotive design shop and I am happy to be listing some of my art for sale as signed prints. I have many other projects in the works, all of which will eventually find their way to my shop here.

I've always believed that if I wanted something special that didn't really exist in the world, I could just build it. That means that if I sell it, it has to meet MY standards for quality. When you buy something from me it's something I use or a print I hang on my wall.

Returns and exchanges
Nothing goes in the mail that I didn't hand build or examine. If something straight up falls apart in less than a reasonable amount of time then you'll get your money back. I try to take pictures that honestly represent my work and often times you are seeing exactly what you are buying (like with my wallets) so I'm probably not going to cut you much slack if you just "don't like it".
As of right now my shipping is pretty simple. I use USPS because it's insured, it has tracking and the whole nine for one basic price. If I include shipping charges, you're paying what I pay, plain and simple.
Additional policies and FAQs
Something to note with my wallets is that they are specifically designed for standard cards such as IDs or credit cards. They aren't made to accommodate anything else. My concept behind moving to a minimalist style wallet personally was to look at what I carried and ask myself, do I use this multiple times a week? If not, leave it at home or in the car, bag, desk or wherever, but leave it out of your pockets.
