The BEAUTIFUL Elizabeth Elder Wearing my Hair Strands in a spread in After Glow Magazine. used with permission.
I use broken vintage costume jewelry to make my hair combs and tiaras. I love repurposing and rhinestones are my faves.
I take vintage beaded purses that need TLC and repair them. I soak linings, add beads, pearls, sequins and straps.
When I first came to etsy in 2006, I was a mosaic artist. I used broken vintage china and jewelry for my pieces.
I once saved a baby hummingbird. Found the nest, tied it back on the tree, baby went right in and mom fed. :-)

Like a crow - I have an obsession with and collect very sparkly things.

Hello! My name is Faro (pronounced Fair-Oh) I live in beautiful Mission Viejo, California.

I take broken vintage costume jewelry, and salvage it, clean it, repair it and then make it into something new. My hairpieces, tiaras and hair extensions are all handmade by me. The good stuff that isn't broken beyond any possible recognition, is cleaned, repaired and offered for sale in my shop here too. I also salvage vintage beaded purses by replacing missing beads, sequins and pearls and replace missing straps or chains. Sometimes I will pull the bag and the lining from the frame and soak it clean and put it back together again. I enjoy making lovely vintage items useable again, and I salvage all that I can in the process. My shop is called OhFaro, because friends said "Oh Faro!" when I started to make my hairpieces. I really love that.
