OILCLOTH ADDICT is proud to be the first U.S. Etsy shop dedicated to offering the largest selection of oilcloth!

IMPORTANT NOTE: We now sell in continuous 1/2 yard increments, in other words by the half yard. Check you order to make sure that you ordered what you intended to order. If you wanted 2 yards you need to order 4 half yard continuous increments/units.

We always cut to order and send out one continuous cut of fabric.

The bulk of our customers are using the fabric for tablecloths and we understand the need for one length of fabric. We too are seamstresses and know the importance to getting our fabric cut the right way, so we never send out small cuts of the same fabric, ever.

OILCLOTH ADDICT is totally addicted to oilcloth. Check out our blog at http://oilclothaddict.blogspot.com/

TIPS: http://oilclothaddict.blogspot.com/2010/02/oilcloth-tip-roundup.html

OILCLOTH: Today's Oilcloth is a vinyl product that is bonded and supported with a woven cotton mesh. This integrated cotton mesh gives Oilcloth it's ability to hold a stitch. Oilcloth is waterproof and fairly stain resistant. Fading may occur under direct sunlight for extended periods of time since the Oilcloth does not contain a UV inhibitor.

OILCLOTH SAFETY: While there are no heavy metals in Oilcloth, it does contain Phthalates, which softens the plastic coating used to manufacture Oilcloth. Oilcloth is not CPSIA complaint. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) prohibits oilcloth garments such as bibs and aprons or toys for children under age 12.

LAMINATED COTTON: A family friendly material that makes fabulous tablecloths and splat mats. Because it’s BPA-free, PVC-free and IT IS CPSIA compliant and great for family use. Laminated cotton is a thinner and more supple oilcloth that is a high-quality quilting-weight cotton print, coated with a thin layer of polyurethane on the fabric’s right side.

CHALK CLOTH: For best results you need to prep your chalk cloth before use. To cure your new chalk cloth simply lay a piece of chalk on its side on the chalk cloth surface, and rub all over, side to side and then wipe clean. Now, do this one more time rubbing your chalk up and down. Wipe it clean one last time and the chalk cloth is now ready for use.

Our oilcloth is imported from Mexico. It is approximately 47" wide. If you purchase more than one yard of Oilcloth we will cut that in one continuous piece.
What is Oilcloth and how to care for it?

Today's Oilcloth is a vinyl that is bonded and supported with a woven cotton mesh. The surface can be wiped clean.

OUTDOOR USE DISCLAIMER: Please note that the laminated cotton is not intended to continuous outdoor use. We suggest that you use oilcloth instead if you would like to make outdoor pillows, tablecloths and seat cushions that stay outside all season long. Laminated Cottons ARE NOT fade resistant, waterproof, or color fast. If you do use laminated cotton outside please take the products inside in between uses. Lastly, oilcloth is not UV protected and may fade in full sun.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PURCHASES: You can wipe oilcloth, laminated cotton and chalk cloth clean using a warm, soapy sponge then dry it off with a soft clothe or sponge. Machine washing is not suggested for all three types of fabric.

CREASES: Your folded oilcloth can be decrease by laying it flat in a warm place. The oilcloth will become soft as it becomes warm. Use you hands to smooth out any creases. Once your oilcloth product is smooth keep it rolled or hung up. Ironing laminated cotton is possible, see http://oilclothaddict.blogspot.com/2011/01/ironing-laminated-cotton.html for more information.

Please note, oilcloth and chalk cloth are a PVC products and are not CPSIA compliant, due to Phthalates. Laminated Cottons are PVC, BPA and phthalate free! Laminated Cotton has been tested and proven FOOD SAFE!!!

Want you order shipped rolled and not folded? Not a problem, we want to get this fabric to you the way you want it. US customers only.

Folding oilcloth and laminated cotton will create creases that will come out. You can iron laminated cotton from the back. Oilcloth on the other hand, can not be ironed but you can leave it our in the warm sun and then roll the piece(s) of oilcloth tightly until it is cooled off to remove most creases.

Rolling oilcloth and laminated cotton takes time, care and extra shipping materials, not to mention the extra postage. If you live EAST of Mississippi please only purchase one upgrade, for orders going WEST of the Mississippi order two upgrades to cover the postage costs.

Any overages over the actual postage and the $2.50 materials fee will be refunded at time of shipping.

PLEASE NOTE!! All chalk cloth is sent on a roll. Always has, always will! Chalk cloth creases just don't come out so we make sure to treat it with love.
