oldfriendswoolens' Shop Announcement

I've been thinking lately, which can be dangerous, whether or not my designs are "primitive" or not. I know they are certainly hooked in a primitive manner and cut of wool but I tend to design what I love from the world around me instead of looking to the past. I don't think its good or bad but I do see in my work that I have explored many different styles and I have always found it to be so interesting to hook the many styles, from rug to rug. There are so many designs yet to draw. Man, my day job just gets in the way! I'll be having some down time this spring and hope to commit more designs to paper and Etsy shop, so please check back in May and June.

NEW ITEM! I've just listed 2 wonderful primitive hooks, modeled after the fabulous Ritchie hooks imported from England. These recreated hooks look and feel just like the Ritchie hook that I use and I'm so happy to be able to offer them. They are created by a Midwest artisan, using the 8mm primitive Ritchie hook as the model. Look for them in my listings. They are so great to hook with! These are so much lighter than some of the brass shank primitive hooks. They are so comfortable to use.

I'll be listing more wool for sale soon. I have numerous tubs of hand dyed wool, just waiting to be appliqued or hooked. Check back when you can!

NEW PATTERN!! Chickadee Gathering is my newest pattern! It is so adorable! Who doesn't love chickadees? There are a few more to come shortly, crows, beeskep garden, and who knows?
