About

I am a one-man operation in my home workshop in Old Town Tehachapi, California.

I began my woodworking career as a child watching my father build wooden furniture and practical items that we used around the house, or gave to friends or relatives. My earliest memory of woodworking is when I struck the third finger of my left hand with a hammer while pounding nails into a board when I was in Kindergarten. My fingernail still bears the scar of this event, and I think about it sometimes when I am hard at work in my shop.

I am now 61 years old and have acquired a huge amount of skill and knowledge about my craft, and I love to create things that are useful to other people. When I make something I make it to last forever, and I want the item to outlive me and beyond. Technology is a wonderful thing, and no other medium has advanced over the years more than the woodworking industry. Modern wood glues are actually stronger than the wood itself, and will continue to hold a joint for hundreds of years.

I design poly-chromatic (segmented) bowls and vessels on a computer, and use this technology to create a one-of-a-kind item can be passed on as an heirloom to future generations.

I recently purchased a Computer Controlled Wood Carving Machine that is capable of producing almost anything imaginable out of wood, acrylic, or lexan. I hope you continue to watch my Etsy Website for new products that I will create with this magnificent machine.

I have a website that I display woodworking items I have made, and periodically write and post articles pertaining to woodworking. My website is OldTownWoodwork.com.

If you have an idea and want to have me create something that is unique and unusual, especially for you, just contact me through my webpage so we can discuss it. Thank You!
