Announcement   Heather Jones is a designer and self-taught quilter who lives outside of Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband and two young children. Three of her original quilts were chosen as winners of the Modern Quilt Guild’s Project Modern Challenges, a year-long national quilting competition, and she is a two-time finalist for the Martha Stewart American Made Awards. Her work has also been featured in numerous publications, most recently in “Lucky Spool’s Essential Guide to Modern Quilting” (2014), “Quilting the New Classics” by Michele Muska (2014), and magazines including Quilty, Quiltmaker, Modern Patchwork, Generation Q, and Love Patchwork and Quilting.

Heather teaches nationally at venues such as the Makerie in Boulder, Colorado; International Quilt Festival in Long Beach, California; and A Gathering of Stitches in Portland, Maine. She also has appeared on Quilting Arts TV and Creativebug. Her work has been exhibited at venues including the New England Quilt Museum, QuiltCon, International Quilt Festival, and the University of Dayton, among others.

Love upload patterns because you get them immediately. Simple quilt, but having pattern really makes cutting & assembly the easiest.

About

modern quilting and design

My creative business began as the owner and designer of Olive & Ollie, a small, handmade business that specialized in clothing and accessories for infants and children. I created fresh and modern designs and sold my handmade work in my etsy shop, www.oliveandollie.etsy.com, and at select retail locations throughout the US. Currently, I am not offering many custom children's items, as my business is changing to focus on quilts and patterns.

I am the founder and former president of the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild and I just finished my first line of modern quilting patterns. I am often inspired by everyday places and things that many people wouldn't even notice (think an old metal silo or a painted grid in the parking lot of a big-box retailer), and I'm always excited by the challenge to translate that inspiration into my work. Three of my original quilts were chosen as winners of the Modern Quilt Guild’s Project Modern Challenges, a year-long national quilting competition. I have a great respect for the art of quilt making and I love to bring a modern twist to traditional patterns.

Welcome! All Olive & Ollie items are handcrafted by me. All items are designed by me, and made to order with great care and attention to detail in my home studio. I use only the most child-friendly, highest quality cotton fabrics. While my own life is very busy with my two babies (Aidan was born in August 2006 and Olivia came along in February 2008), I do not outsource production of my designs, nor do I hire people to sew for me. Please allow 14 days production time for custom items, plus 2-5 days for domestic shipping. Thank you for supporting crafters and artists who believe in the quality and integrity of handmade!

Please play nicely. Do not copy any of my work, including designs, text, and images, on both this site and my blog without my permission. I love to show my work but I don’t like to share my designs with others who want to replicate my creativity or infringe on my copyrights. Thank you!

Accepted payment methods

  • Money Order
Payment
* My preferred method of payment is via Paypal. This can be done very easily if you have a PayPal account already; you can also pay with a credit card without opening a PayPal account.

* I also accept Money Orders. Your order will be shipped upon my receipt of it.

* Kindly, please follow etsy guidelines and submit payment immediately upon your purchase.
Shipping
*I ship via the USPS. Shipping within the US is via 1st Class US Mail for smaller items and via Priority Mail for larger items; both methods include delivery confirmation. International shipping is via 1st class International Mail, and overseas buyers are responsible for duty/customs fees, if any apply.

* Please check that your Paypal address is correct. Mailing labels are automatically generated from the address in your Paypal account, not the etsy address.

* Insurance is available. Please contact me for more information.
Refunds and Exchanges
* I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase, and I think you will be. But, should you not be happy with your purchase for whatever reason, I will gladly accept a return within 14 days of an item in unused, original condition, and a refund will be issued, minus the initial shipping fee.
