Hi! I'm Kelly. I live in Southern California with my husband and two kids. I feel so fortunate to have a beautiful, healthy family, and food on the table. There are millions of people without food or clean water, who die needlessly every day. That's why I started ONE BE•CAUSE. Everyone deserves the basic necessities of life. Just because someone is not quite as fortunate, does not mean they deserve to go without food, water, or medicine.

We strive to provide food for hungry families.
We strive to provide clean water to all human-beings.
We strive to take care of our fallen soldiers.
We strive to prevent deaths from preventable diseases

BE•CAUSE OF HUNGER

An estimated 195 million children worldwide suffer from the effects of malnutrition, with 90 percent of them living in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. In fact, malnutrition contributes to at least one-third of the eight million annual deaths of children under five years of age. BE•CAUSE OF DISEASE

Almost a third of deaths among children under five are vaccine-preventable. (http://www.unicefusa.org/work/immunization/infographic-unicef-immunization.html)

BE•CAUSE OF WATER

Diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren't strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses. 90% of the 30,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are in children under five years old. The WHO reports that over 3.6% of the global disease burden can be prevented simply by improving water supply, sanitation, and hygiene. (http://www.charitywater.org/whywater)

BE•CAUSE OF FREEDOM

Most veterans face challenges as they transition back into civilian life, and today’s wounded veterans are meeting extraordinary obstacles including the physical injuries as well as invisible ones, like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). BE•CAUSE OF HUNGER (US)

In many ways, America is the land of plenty. But for 1 in 6 people in the United States, hunger is a reality. Many people believe that the problems associated with hunger are confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different. Right now, millions of Americans are struggling with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days.
