About

"Why would anyone want any of this old junk?"

My husband, Jeff, and I and our two children live in a little red brick house just outside of Historic Bordentown City, NJ. Our home is surrounded by enormous oak and locust trees and we spend lots of time underneath them, enjoying the fresh air and open space. I love all things vintage and anything with a history so naturally, one of my favorite things to do is to go to flea markets, antique stores, auctions, barn sales, and yard sales. I'm so fortunate that Jeff enjoys doing these things with me. When we're not junk-sifting, you can find me sewing or crafting, decorating, baking, gardening, or playing in my yard with my kids.

I grew up in a NJ town across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, PA. As a young girl, living along the Rancocas Creek, I always had a passion for nature and the environment. I dreamed of becoming a marine biologist and working for the EPA saving whales and dolphins. While I didn't save any whales, I did work for the EPA as a summer intern the year before I graduated college. I've been working in the environmental field ever since and I'm proud to say that I even got a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy. Now, I work full time as an ecologist with dreams and aspirations of one day owning my own antiques/collectibles business.

Growing up, my mom and older sister enjoyed perusing antique shops and would spend hours scouring the aisles of the local flea market. I, however, loathed it. I just didn't get it. "Why would anyone want any of this old junk?" I'd whine and complain, asking over and over if they were done yet. Well, I'm all grown up and something definitely clicked somewhere along the way. Now I love old books and well-used linens. I especially love anything science-related because I'm geeky like that. I love advertising, boardgames, and wooden toys from decades past. I love chipping paint and rusty metal. I love coming home from the flea market, my fingers black, flip flops dusty, after sifting through boxes of junk and walking down aisle after aisle in the sun. I've built my vintage shop, One Cozy Nest Vintage, out of love. My love for nature. My love for vintage. My love for the thrill of the hunt. I suppose it was in my blood all along.

PAYMENT

***I love making deals on multiple items & combining shipping. Convo me!!***

I accept Paypal and credit card payments. Payment must be made in full before the item is shipped. Paypal E-checks are accepted but I do not ship until the payment clears. If the payment does not clear, I will have to cancel the order. If you are experiencing a problem with Paypal, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here to please you!

NON PAYMENT
If you change your mind, it's OKAY! Just let me know and I can cancel the transaction. No harm done. Don't worry, I don't leave negative feedback if you contact me about wanting to cancel the transaction. If I don't hear from you in 2 weeks, I'll most likely convo you first to make sure you still want the item. If I receive no response in a timely manner, I will reluctantly leave negative feedback. With so many tools here on Etsy and the friendly atmosphere, there should be no reason for this...so don't make me come get you! :)
Shipping
SHIPPING

We do not try to make a profit off of shipping. The shipping cost is estimated based on weight, size of box that will be needed, and shipping across the country. Please bear with us until Etsy has a more accurate way to charge customers for actual shipping costs. After you pay, if we find that we charged you more than $1.50 over, you will be refunded the difference. I will also occasionally ask for additional funds from you to cover the cost on an item that turns out to cost a lot more to ship than expected.

I do not ship until I receive payment in full. I use USPS First Class, Priority Mail, and Media Mail. Occasionally, if it warrants, I will use a carrier like UPS or FedEx.

I try to ship several times a week so the sooner you submit payment, the sooner you'll receive your item. However, there are occasional times where my home and work schedule does not allow me to get out to the post office in a timely fashion. If this happens, I will notify you of the delay with lots of apologies. I'm a busy, full-time working mom of 2 wee ones...please understand. :) I always ship to the address provided on the Etsy transaction receipt. If you would like me to ship to any other address, please specify in the "Notes to Seller" when checking out or send me a Convo.

We OCCASIONALLY ship internationally, convo me if interested. Be mindful of brokerage fees and tax on imported goods. Buyer (you) responsible for all extra fees incurred.

PACKAGING
I try my best to re-use packaging when I can. You might find your goodies wrapped in brown paper that comes from grocery bags...but don't worry, I only get them when I forget my canvas bags! I'm also a huge fan of re-using tissue paper from gifts so don't be surprised to find Christmas colors all year round! I encourage everyone to do the same, so please, if you can, re-use the envelopes and paper that I ship your items in.
Refunds and Exchanges
REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
I have an open mind and I deal with refunds and exchanges on an individual basis. So, if you are unhappy for any reason, please convo me so we can resolve the issue quickly. Before considering leaving negative feedback, convo me and I will do everything in my power to make you 100% satisfied. In the event of a return or exchange, I will reimburse only the value of the item, not including shipping or paypal fees.
Additional policies and FAQs
VINTAGE VS. "VINTAGE STYLE"
The general rule of thumb is that "vintage" means anything older than 20 years. Currently, anything from 1993 on back is considered vintage. When I'm shopping around for items to fill my shop, something that's not vintage occasionally catches my eye. It might be because it's a reproduction...or it might be because it was made to look old. Either way, I like to provide my buyers with as much information as possible about an item. A lot of times I'll search books and the web for more information about an item if I'm not sure. When there are still doubts about it's true age or if I know for a fact that it's not 20 years or older, you may find that I describe it as "vintage style".

FEEDBACK
I value my 100% positive feedback deeply. An Etsy sellers' reputation depends on it. I will leave positive feedback for you after I receive payment. Please return the favor and leave feedback for me at your earliest convenience. If for any reason you are even THINKING of leaving negative feedback, please convo me first so that I can do everything in my power to please you.

CONTACT
I am constantly checking my email, so if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, please convo me any time of day!
