About

Beautiful rosaries, handmade in New Zealand just for you.

There is a quote by Mother Teresa that I love and that I find really inspiring. This is what she said about the times we live in: “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” Today I have another chance to live out a day of grace - so naming my shop was easy!

I began making rosaries because I think they are beautiful. I love everything about them - choosing the beads, designing the way they will sit together, expressing an aspect of faith through linking each separate bead into the strand .... the satisfaction of running them through my fingers to make sure they are nice to hold, right through to photographing and listing them in my shop as I think about them going to a new home. Out of my love of this process and my growing awareness of the role prayer beads have had throughout history, came my decision to start this home-based business. And so I began.

15 years have passed and my enthusiasm for the way strands of beads help involve both the mind and the body in prayer has continued to grow. My sister Kati joined me in this joyful pursuit a few years ago, and we love to work together making rosaries and prayer beads for many faiths. You can see Kati's Anglican, Christian and Recovery prayer and meditation beads in her Etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PraiseBead

I live in Auckland which is the largest city in New Zealand. I am lucky to live in a secluded property on the fringes of this busy city and have a lovely outlook from my workshop over my rather wild garden and trees that attract many birds, providing nature's own inspiration as I create my rosaries and prayer beads. The beaches are not far away, and you will often see ocean themes in my work too as I am a frequent visitor there.

Kati and I have made all the rosaries you see here. We hope by sharing our work on Etsy we can provide prayer beads which will become companions on your daily walk and add to your spiritual journey. We believe that if we all honor God in our own ways, together we will create something beautiful.

Kia Ora - welcome from New Zealand! There have been jewelers in my family for many generations, & I have found my place in our family history through making the rosaries and jewelry reflecting faith that you see in my shop.

Hi, I am Kati, Deborah's sister and co-worker. We share a workshop, and although we each concentrate on our own area of special interest, we consult a lot on design and technique. Two heads are better than one in our case!

I want you to have a very pleasant experience when you purchase from One Day's Grace. I will do my best to send your parcel quickly, and it will be attractively wrapped so it is a treat for you to receive. I use a minimum of packaging, recycling useful materials whenever I can. To keep the shipping costs down I often don't use boxes, preferring a soft jewelry pouch for most items.

I hope you enjoy your contact with One Day's Grace!

Payment
You only pay shipping for the FIRST item in your cart. Any other items you purchase from me hop into the same parcel for FREE. This option will appear in your cart if you add more than one item from my shop.

Please make payment at time of purchase. I accept Paypal and credit card payments internationally, as well as Etsy gift cards. All parcels are sent to the Etsy address unless you specifically advise me otherwise.

New Zealand customers can make a direct credit payment into our New Zealand bank account. Please request details if you would like to do that.

All taxes and duties applied and collected in the destination country are the responsibility of the buyer - these taxes are not set by me or by Etsy and I do not have any control over them. UK buyers especially should be aware of the new duty and tax rates applied by their country to imported goods (contact HM Revenue & Customs for advice and rates).

International customs and duty calculator to work out if you will need to pay taxes in your country before you can collect your parcel is here: http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation. If these additional costs to you are more than you wish to pay, please contact me as soon as possible so we can cancel the purchase.
Shipping
PAY SHIPPING ON THE FIRST ITEM ONLY. You only pay shipping for the first item in your order. All other purchases made at the same time and going to the same address will hop into the parcel for free. The option for free shipping will appear as you add more than one item to your cart.

All parcels are sent within 72 hours of payment being received, often they fly away the same or the next day (excluding weekends and public holidays). After they have left my hands we are both reliant on the performance of the carrier to get your parcel to you as soon as possible.

Your packet should reach you within 7 to 21 working days, depending on your location. However, delays can happen when shipping between countries, so please contact me before purchasing if you require something more urgently.

International buyers are responsible for all duties and taxes that may be payable in their own countries. These are taxes charged by some countries on some goods imported into the country over a certain threshold in value.

Every country has different regulations and different values for these taxes, which are levied by the Government on the residents of the country. They are not part of shipping costs and are not charged by me, the NZ Government or by Etsy, and (if assessed or payable) are the responsibility of the purchaser to pay in their own country. Please contact me before purchase if you have any queries about these costs, or refer to your own Government's information services, or this website may be helpful to you: http://www.dutycalculator.com/country-guides

Please contact me before purchase if you are unsure what these charges mean for you.

I carry my own insurance against loss or damage in transit, so please contact me if there are any issues in this regard. For claims for damage, I may require photos of the wrapping or packaging damage for the insurance company.
Refunds and Exchanges
REFUNDS

Please get in touch if you are disappointed with your purchase in any way and I will do my best to remedy any issues - I am confident we will be able to find a solution that will be agreeable for you.

Should an item be damaged in transit, please note that I will require the return of the item prior to refund (where possible) and photos of the item showing the damage clearly as well as photos of the packaging material. This information is required by my insurance company.

In the event of a refund, I am not able to refund any money paid to the customs department of your country when you uplift a parcel. This money is paid to your government - these taxes are not set by me or by Etsy and I do not have any control over them. UK BUYERS especially should be aware of the new duty and VAT tax rates applied by their country to imported goods (contact HM Revenue & Customs for advice and rates). Please see more information in the "Shipping" section of my policies.

If the return is due to a fault in the item/s or the way I described it:
if the item is being returned to me because it is faulty or there is any issue to do with the construction or advertising of the item, all return and/or replacement shipping costs are paid by me.

If you change your mind or it isn't like what you thought it would be:
If you are returning an item because the item is as described, but you have changed your mind or want to exchange it for another item or a refund, the return shipping is paid by you.

You can choose to exchange the returned item for another one, to receive a store credit or store gift voucher, or to receive a refund. I will process your choice immediately on receipt of the returned item/s.

ROSARY GUARANTEE:

My rosaries carry my 20 year guarantee. That means if it should need repair, send it to me and it will be remade free of charge for the work. Additional policies and FAQs
BRACELET SIZES: To get the best fit for your bracelet, measure your wrist with a soft tape measure, or use a piece of thin string and make a mark where the string crosses over then measure between the marks with a ruler. Add 1 inch (2.5cm) to that length for a relaxed fit.

Choose a bracelet length from the drop down menu at checkout. Here are the standard choices for bracelet lengths for teens and adults, and they include the extra allowance for fit:

petite - 6" or 15.5cm
v. small - 6 1/2" or 16.5cm
small - 7" or 18cm
medium - 7 1/2" or 19cm
large - 8" or 20cm
X-lge - 8 1/2" or 21.5cm

For babies and children, add just 1/2 inch (1.5cm) to the actual wrist measurement. There are the standard baby/child bracelet lengths:

0-6 months - 4 1/2" or 11.5cm
6-12 months - 4 3/4" or 12cm
13-24 months - 5" or 12.7cm
2-3 years (toddler) - 5 1/4" or 13.5cm
3-4 years - 5 1/2" or 14cm
4-5 years - 5 3/4" or 14.5cm
6-7 years - 6" or 15cm
7-8 years - 6 1/4" or 16cm

Most of my adult bracelets can be made in lengths between 6" and 9". Smaller and larger sizes are available, but may require some design changes to make sure the overall look is balanced. Please don't hesitate to ask.
