Announcement
Welcome! My name is Catherine, and I design knit items made with all-natural fibers. I knit with sheep's wool, alpaca, llama, silk, cotton, and bamboo (to name a few!). I focus on using yarns that are made in the United States or made using fair trade practices around the world. You will not find acrylic yarn or chemically treated yarn in this shop! Some are organic, some are fair trade, and all are purchased from farms, small businesses, or fellow Etsy sellers.
Thank you for stopping by, and enjoy the shop! Direct any inquiries to Catherine at oneknotknits [at] gmail.com (or convo me). I welcome custom orders!

5 out of 5 starsWhat a fabulous product made with so much love. I have two of my own of these lovely washcloths that I actually use as coasters because they are too beautiful to use to clean dishes in my opinion!! I am ordering some for friends for the holidays!

About OneKnotKnits
Every projects begins with one simple knot
At the urging of my family and friends, I opened my first Etsy shop (mykodakdelights.etsy.com) in 2009. I have been knitting since age 8 and, like most creatives, I've explored everything from cat's cradle formations to installation art. My journey continues perpetually; I love learning new methods and challenging myself to create more deeply.
I am personally committed to living in a way that is gentle toward the environment, and my yarn choices reflect that lifestyle. I knit with yarns that are made ethically, sustainably, and simply – or in at least one of those ways. I prefer to buy yarns that are made in the USA or made from consciously run companies from around the world.
My goal in sharing my creativity with you is to bring back the warm, cozy feeling of wearing a special handmade item. I aspire toward living full and well-intentioned days, to move away from excess and mass production. I'm so glad the movement to appreciate small-batch goods is gaining momentum, and I'm happy to join the fun!
Please take a look at my Instagram (oneknotknits) and Pinterest (mykodakdelights) for frequent updates and more looks into my process!

Owner
I'm Catherine, and I live and work in upstate New York. My childhood was full of creativity, and I blossomed when my mom taught me to knit at age 8. My first scarf somehow turned into a triangle, but I've improved quite a bit since then!

Frequently asked questions
When will my item ship?
I ship out every order in 1-2 business days. The only exception is with custom orders, which can take 2-4 weeks depending on the size and scope of the project. The customer and I work together to decide timeframes for custom orders.
Do I have to hand wash this item?
Most of the items in my shop are hand wash only, except those that are labelled "machine washable." Those wools have undergone an eco-friendly process to make them machine washable. All others are pure and natural fiber that will last the longest when they are gently hand washed.
Can I get a different version of this item?
Message me to see if I can make a custom version of any item in my shop for you. Some yarns featured in the shop were purchased on farms that do not sell online, so I may not be able to create an exact replica for you. I can find a suitable substitute yarn to use instead! Custom orders will take anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on the size and scope of the project.
